The comment that sticks out the most is the part about discovering parts of the park not visited in awhile.

I have always lived about 3 hours or so from the park. Growing up, we would typically go once, maybe twice a year. That meant, obviously, trying to maximize our time, hitting all the big rides we could in a day.

The past few years, a little older and armed with season passes, my wife and I have really enjoyed taking our time each time we visit, not feeling the need to rush around each time we visit. Taking the extra time to check out an attraction, path, or shop we have just walked past in previous years has really changed the way I view Cedar Point.

Great interview Walt. Hope you had a hard hat on!

I agree OhioStater, armed with season passes, if Im alone and the park is mobbed. I will get maybe get a few rides on the "big four" (assuming Im there for ERT) but after that you can forget it. Magnum, Gemini, and Blue Streak are fine coasters that hardly ever have more then an hour wait, Mean Streak, CCMT, and Mantis are coasters that I dont mind riding once a trip, CP has a bunch of flats I love (MaXair, Troika, Matterhorn, Scrambler, Cedar Downs, Calypso, Power Tower, Witches Wheel, Tilt a Whirl, Monster, Paddelwheel Excursions, Skyhawk) and if the temp is right Im likely to spend a few hours at Soak City (almost entirely in the Raging River.) I enjoy those days as much as I enjoy the days when I can power ride MF, Maverick, TTD and Raptor (and still get tons of rides on Gemini, Magnum and Blue Streak.)
Why don't they just put 5-point harnesses on the Giant Wheel seats already...
Interesting, nice to see many of my personal nitpicks get sorted out this year finally.

Mainly,

Music on the Train!

Pagoda which felt like it was still in 1988

Magnetic Gates on Wave Swinger and Witches Wheel

The Sign on Raptor and Magnum getting some love for the first time since each was bloody built!

A Subway!

Ben & Jerry's sure did not last long, nice to see the second best thing about Sandusky back at the best.

Nice to see the rest of Merch come out of the 80's and move more up scale as well.

and Dominic's to a Hibachi Restaurant I must be dreaming!

Now only if they could surprise me next year my helping the Breakwater, which was once great.

I second the Dominic's->Teppan grill. That's going to be very interesting---both to see if they carried it off, and whether or not folks will take them up on the idea.
^^I believe the seatbelts are on Giant Wheel just make people realize they shouldn't be standing up.
So are the straps being added to the doors this year there to remind people that they shouldn't open the door while they're 120 feet in the air?
It's an amusement park, people tend temporarily lose that part of the brain for the day. I kind of wish I was joking about that. :)

It's also the 21st century where we need "caution: HOT" on a cup of coffee.

And when they stand up, they tend to lose the rest of the brain case as well...
