PointBuzz FAQ question

I was just reading the very useful PointBuzz FAQ, and it states that no one has ever died as the result of an accident at Cedar Point.

I could have *sworn* that I read a small boy died from head injuries after falling out of the Cedar Creek Mine Ride many years ago. Or did I?

Maybe it wasn't an accident. He could've tried to fight his way out of the restraints and then fell out.

They could also mean that there were no accidents that were of the parks responsibility. For example, if someone blows up a car in the parking lot, its not the parks fault.

I think my post sounds stupid but I will post anyway. *** Edited 6/7/2004 11:19:15 PM UTC by Kyle Fobe***

I don't know about all of the specifics, but a boy did fall out of Mine Ride but was not killed. The legend goes that the train came back to the station and the parent pretended like nothing happened until they found the kid.

This part I'm pretty sure is the correct story. The parents sued Arrow and Cedar Point. Arrow settled, CP went to court. CP won because apparently there was reason to believe the parent did it on purpose.

IIRC, that incident was before there was a specific height requirement on CCMR. At one point the ride's requirement was "No handheld infants."
