Point maddness

While on virtual midway I found a NCAA bracket except it has cedar point rides on it. Check it out here www.virtualmidway.com/pointmadness/bracket.html

The bracket even rated them by seeds I would advise you to check it out, it's pretty cool.

rated them by seeds?
Sometimes when I eat something like watermelon, I'll rate the seeds. Something like, "Gee-whiz, this one's great!"
And I wonder why I am so alone.

My money is on Happy Friar vs. Mr.Potato.

The Golden Rule - Try it once and if you don't like you don't have to go on again!
S**tty end of the Seeding Stick:

Chaos (7) - come on, you call Chaos a 7? Solid performance during the ride time, a little long on the load/unload, but will that really cost it in the tourney? Sort of a gift against Macaroni's in the first round, but a tough second round against probable Hotel Breakers.

Demon Drop (6) - I realize there is a heavy reliance on seniors on this one, but the old guys can still play with the younguns from time to time! I think a former top performer like this really deserves better. Look for Demon Drop to make a big splash in the first and second, until a tough matchup against Wicked Twister.

Troika (not seeded) - How did the committee overlook this classic? A consistant solid performer that could easily out-do some of the lower seed. Maybe not even a second rounder, but does that really matter this time of year? Just making the dance is reward enough ...

You gotta be kidding me seedings:

Gemini (2) - Gemini a 2 in the East? You gotta be kidding me! There's no way this overachiever can outlast Mean Streak or even hope to compete with Raptor. Although the East is easily the weakest bracket, Gemini will fall early and fall hard (like when it's less than 50 degrees outside ... )

Mine Ride (8) - Where did this one come from? The committee really let themselves down here. Mine Ride has been down and out for years. A couple of solid performances late in the season should not vault this weak team ahead of Wildcat and Ocean Motion.

Upset Specials:

While a popular #2 pick, Power Tower just doesn't cut it outside of league play. Constant scheduling against nobodies and older teams (like Demon Drop and Mr Hyde) make it seem a lot better than it really is. Don't look for Chuck Wagon in round two, but if Midway Market doesn't do the job, Mantis will have easy pickins on this #2 seed.

Everyone knows a #5 falls to a #12 every year, this one will be no different. Johnny Rockets has been suffering some weak service lately, and singing and dancing have been detracting from guest experience. Watch for Ocean Motion to catch them blind and show up in round two!

Final Four Predictions:

Raptor has been handed a gift with virtually no competition in their bracket. Look for Raptor to arrive at the Final Four barely breaking a sweat.

Millennium Force should also have an easy time, but a tough Hotel Breakers will give it a run for its money. Will the speed and height prevail, or the sheer size and many different angles of Breakers take Millennium Force down this year? This writer thinks not, look for Millennium to advance to the round of four, and take down a Raptor which was lulled to sleep by its opponents

Top Thill Dragster looks to be the top pick, but this writer sees it going down. Injuries were a major factor for this one early, but it pulled through in a big way. Still, watch for Mantis to make the run here, although there's an outside shot for a strong #9 seed in Sandcastle to make a Cinderella run!

The final bracket features the toughest competition. Magnum and Wicked Twister run neck and neck all year, and Demon Drop and Soak City are lurking in this bracket. This one will yield a few slugfests and some close ones, but watch for Wicked Twister to make it out of this battle royale, and take Mantis down in the other half of the Final Four.

Your championship game comes down to two of Intamin's best in Wicked Twister and Millennium Force, but Millennium Force's sheer height and speed will be just way too much for Wicked Twister, and Millennium Force will win a close one to take the title for a third straight year!

(on another note, I must log a complaint that MEAN STREAK took Pitt's seed? I mean come on!) *** Edited 3/19/2004 3:56:49 AM UTC by Impulse-ive***

Mean Streak was seeded WAYYYYYY too high. I'd be surprised if it makes it out of the first round.

Certain victory.

Shut up! Bad karma, Bad! ;)

Troika is still on suspension due to recruiting violations. Heads are still spinning from some of the "fund raisers" thrown by it.
Impulse-ive, you may have taken it a bit too far in the middle of that post, but your final four selection was nearly perfect with the exception of taking Wicked Twister over Magnum...there's no way that Magnum is going down in its bracket. I could see Magnum taking it all if it gets past Dragster. That ought to be a close match-up too.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
I guess Troika will have to settle for the NIT :). Some of the seedings are out of whack, like Gemini being a 2 seed. I would have put it at a 4, and Mine Ride at a 12 or 13. Still a very good idea, although the Final Four is going to be all 1 seeds IMO...

I don't know I can see Maggie coming out on top. I think my final 4 is a little different than the rest of you. The nostalgia, she can't lose!

According to the annual survey, Gemini is the 6th "favorite" ride at the park. Since there are 8 attractions that are #1 or #2, I'd say it makes sense. But, just like in the NCAA tournament, arguing over the seeds is part of the fun. :)

The bracket is updated and the only "shocker" was Laser show "upsetting" Pagoda Gift Shop

Skol Vikings
Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

What? There was no play-in game? I would have thought Hattitudes vs. Fascination or maybe Gateway Gifts vs. the parking lot would have made for a good match-up.
Where are the upsets?????
