Platinum Pass

Maybe the Canadians, as cash register operators, forget to ask.
My experience at CF parks is that they will usually ask if you’re a pass holder. And at places like Dollywood and Silver Dollar City as well.
And maybe it’s not so much that they’re trying to give something away, but more like for every no they get it plants a seed in the mind that a season pass may be a good thing.
Because we Americans, as a people, love our discounts and hate the fact that somehow we might be missing out. In fact, we spend money just to get them.

Do the parks with gold passes have waterparks that are a separate gate admission? And if Cedar Point were to have a gold pass( in theory) would that include Cedar Point Shores or not? I'm wondering if that is part of the reason the gold pass model hasn't shown up there. A pass that included both parks would likely be priced high enough that for not much more you could get platinum so maybe they don't see a gold pass as being a popular enough option to be worth the trouble. Maybe the situation in Sandusky is unique enough in the chain that gold passes don't make much sense there.

You can do the mental gymnastics as much as you want. Just concede the point that an average Canadian family living in Vaughn, Canada probably isn't going to be going on a road trip in 2018 to Knott's Berry Farm, Cedar Point, Carowinds, etc. all in one year when a Gold pass will do the trick.

Relax. I got nothing in this. Point elsewhere, please.

Just concede, man.

Alright, alright... I concede.

What was it again?

Don't concede yet. We still have to check for hanging chads.

CGA has gold pass and has a waterpark in the same gate.

Yeah, I believe all the Gold Pass parks have waterparks that are included in the gate price.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Knott’s Berry Farm has a Gold Pass and a separate gated waterpark; but the Gold Pass includes Soak City. The regular season pass does not.
