Planning a trip/wanna meet fellow coaster geeks

I'm going on vacation next weekend to see family/friends, and coasters! I'm going to Springfield Mass to see my aunt. My one SURE stop is to see a good friend at Hershey on Tuesday, June 20th.

I've been to a few parks on the way like Kennywood, and think I'll skip that for now... Probably go right to the Hershey area to see my friend. Then from there I'll be on the way to Springfield, Mass, so I could stop at SFNJ. Been there several times, not too crazy about going unless Ka and El Toro are up and running. And I need someone to go with! Or meet there. I've hung out there by myself before... no fun!

I'm planning to stay with my family in Springfield from about June 23-26th (Monday), then start the trek back home to Chicago.

The one MUST I have is Conneaut Lake. Never been, and always wanted to. I'll also be passing (not directly, but close enough) to Darien Lake, Martins Fantasy Island and Seabreeze. Never been to any of those. The one I would want to go to the most would be Seabreeze.

So I'm looking for suggestions and anyone that would like to meet up at the above parks! I've been to Great Escape, SFNE and Lake Compounce, and really not interested on going back to those parks on this trip.

Well you should stop at GRADV because KK has been running consistant and Eltoro is opening this week in time for CC so you should be able to ride both. Why wouldn't stop at SFNE to ride the #1 steel? When was the last time you were there? The park has changed alot in the last 2 years and IMO is the best run SF park that I have been to.
Thanks! I just wanna find an enthusiast(s) to hang out with at SFGA, don't wanna do it alone. My riding alone days are coming down...

My aunt I'm going to see lives 10 mins from Riverside (uh, sfne) and I was there last summer and a couple before that (before the fatality). The coasters are great there, but wanna spend time with my family and riding coasters I haven't been on before.

I'm also gonna do Dorney on probably Wed June 21st, never been there. Anyone wanna meet up!

Check the Meeting Calendar located on the right side of page. I've met up with fellow enthusiasts before using that function.

Wish I was going to be on that trip as it looks like you're hitting a bunch of parks I've never visited before but are near the top of my list to visit.

Good luck!

Yeah is Good!

I prefer being called an enthusiast.
can i call you a hamster :)

hehe :)

I forget that feature exists all the time. The only time I use it is when I'm travelling alone to visit a distant park. I see if anyone else is hitting a park I'll be at and on a few occasions have found a willing ride partner.

Hopefully someone will 'bite'. A word of advice though, don't sound too eager as it may turn away a potential ride partner. Good luck and enjoy, whether alone or with fellow enthusiast(s).

Yeah is Good!
so i should put a little more attitude in it? hehehe

im just kidding. but in all reality, im working on not being a coaster snob. it's rough! but makes my day better.

Although it's not on your list Knoebels could be a pretty good stop as well. About 20-30 minutes off I-80 and week days it's usually pretty empty!

I'm usually there Wendsday and Friday nights 6 to 10! Just look for the two ruthless people on the bumper cars! *** Edited 6/12/2006 3:15:27 AM UTC by coasterpunk***

I would love to go to Knoebel's! Was there about 8 years ago and loved it! One of the best! I'm thinking about going to the ppp this year or next when the flying turns is open. For now, think I'm gonna concentrate on parks I haven't been to (well, for the most part)
