Planning a Ohio Trip

I am planning a trip in Ohio for this summer and have a few questions.
1.) How far(time wise) is SFO from PKI?
2.)How far (time wise) is PKI from Coney Island(the Ohio one)?
3.)Is America going to be open for the 2001 season?
4.)Where is Wyandot Lake? How many coasters are at the park?
5.)How far(time wise) is SFKK from PKI?

Thanks for your help.

Wyandot Lake is near Colombus, Ohio and that is in southeastern Ohio. It looks like it must be pretty close to PKI on the SF map.

Jack, who can't wait for Opening Day 2001...
One Question I'd like to know is...

How many days does it take to tour the parks of Ohio??? IE: I'd like to spend 2 days at Cedar Point, but 1 day each at Six Flags World of Adventure & Paramount Kings Island.

Can it be done in 5 days? I think it's about a 5hr trip from CP to PKI, right? There's a day right there travelling!!
I couldn't tell you how long SFO is from PKI, but looking at the map, SFO is in the northeast section of Ohio and PKI is in the south-west section of Ohio. So suffice to say I would count on many hours of drive time. If you check the SFO website they might be able to tell you better. Dawg Byte, I would say two days is a good amount of time to spend at CP, although crowds varied based on what I saw so you may be able to ride everything in one day. A Wednesday in July was out of control busy, but the next day probably was a 1/3 less crowded. They even have a two-day ticket that saves you money vs. buying an individual ticket both days. *** This post was edited by Intamin Fan on 2/6/2001. ***
SFO is approximately 3.5 hours from PKI. Coney Island is about 30 minutes south of Kings Island. Kentucky Kingdom is about 2.5 hours from PKI. For more exact information, go to http://www.randmcnally.com and type in the cities for the parks.

PKI is in Kings Mills, Ohio
Coney Island is in Cincinnati, Ohio
SFO is in Aurora, Ohio
SFKK is in Louisville, Kentucky

You won't need addresses for the parks, only cities and states, and the site will give you exact miles and driving time between each of those. The rest of the parks, I'm not sure about the location or anything. I hope this has helped.

I was in Ohio over this past summer..we hit Cedar Point, SFWoA, and PKI.. and then we swung down into Kentucky and went to Kentucky Kingdom..I think..if i'm not mistaken..it took us about a week to do it all..and that was including hotels and stuff. *** This post was edited by James on 2/6/2001. ***
I live in Columbus. It takes me 1 hour, 25 minutes to get to Kings Island, about 2 hours 20 minutes to get to Cedar Point, about 2 1/2 hours to get to SFO, about 1 hour 45 minutes to Americana, about the same to Coney Island.

Oh, by the way, Wyandot Lake is not worth a visit. They have one junior coaster which is almost a clone of the Beastie at Kings Island, and some flat rides and water slides. It is basically a park built in the parking lot of the zoo.
I know this is a kinda dumb question, but where in OHIO is Cedar Point?? I really want to visit it this summer.
Cedar Point is in Sandusky, Ohio. It is on a peninsula sticking into the lake.

#1 Park-CP. #1Steel-Montu. #1Wood-Roar(W)
And is that too far from SFWoA???

Thanks a lot!!!

This summer will be sweet.
Does anyone know how much time it takes from KW to SFWoA and from PKI to Holiday World? Thanks. I didn't want to start a new thread.

"You think ya got enough o' dem parks 'n coasters 'ere in Ohier?"
Not trying to plug any websites but, try either Mapquest, Map Blast, or the Rand McNally websites for estimated times and mileage between sites.

I did the Cedar Point, SFO (now SFWoA), and PKI. We did it in 5 days. Went from CP to SFO then to PKI. It is about 2 hours from CP to SFO. And about 3-5 hours from SFO to PKI depending of traffic and construction.
If you go early enough in June, PKI is doable in a half a day. I went the second week of June on a monday last year. We arrived just after open. By 3pm we had rode all the coasters (minus SOB, it wasn't open) and many of the thrill rides. I belive we also got in multi-rides on a couple of coasters. Careful planing of your trip inside the park will speed things up considerably. Just remember not to run from one end of the park to the other. Take each area one at a time and complete all the rides there before moving on to another one.
Cedar Point can be done in one day, but it may kill you. You have to be constantly moving. Shows, games, arcades, and sit down meals should be avoided. Chances are you'll only be able to ride everything once too. :(
Just my two cents, feel free to disagree.

Last year in May I did CP, SFO and PKI all in one weekend. The path from CP and PKI is not that easy. A lot of back roads.

I live about 5 miles from SFWoA. It takes me 5 minutes to get to SFWoA, 1 hour 45 min to 2 hours to get to Cedar Point. And it takes me about 5 to 6 hours to get to PKI. Cedar Point you should stay for 2 days(at least). Because they just have so many great rides and some you'll want to ride over and over again. SFWoA can be done in one day, they have some neauseating rides that can be ridden once. PKI is probally a 2 day park also because usually the lines are rather long. PKI can be done in one day, though.
