Glad to hear nobody got killed.

I suppose this odd accident happened since it was so close to an airfield. I'd hate to think of what could happen if this happened on a bigger ride somewhere else.

The mayor did not witness a miracle. He witnessed someone who should never fly a plane again.

I knew my fear of Ferris Wheels was justified!

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

I'm impressed that the force of the plane didn't topple the ride.

I never thought this would be possible. It's even more amazing that no one was killed.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

On the brighter side, that ferris wheel is now idiot proof. You fix it and don't worry every again about runaway planes.

It's pre-disastered!

OMG, we're going to crash! Oh wait, let me fly into that ferris wheel over there. Those kids will cushion the impact. Seriously, he couldn't go a few feet in either direction?

Maybe he would have, if only there were an aircraft warning beacon on that Ferris wheel...

I love it when the guy says I didn't see the Ferris Wheel, and just seconds later says, it didn't look like there were any children on it. Sounds like he saw the ferris wheel to me, otherwise why would he say that?

How do you miss seeing a Ferris Wheel in an area that looks like it is wide open? Obviously a plane that size isn't moving very fast, unless of course you were lighting up another doobie, and were too buzzed to notice. Or, maybe he's like the coaster nut with the camcorder, filming his landing, but forgot to take the lens cap off. Then SMASH!! into a ferris wheel!! DUH!!

If you have to take your eyes off the road (or air) in front of you, you're doing it wrong.

I'd assume (maybe wrongly) that the plane had a serious malfunction, like the one that recently crashed at an airshow. Video of that crash showed that the tail section had begun to fall apart prior to the crash - and since this one was reportedly leaking fuel....seems more plausible than simply flying a perfectly good airplane into a stationary object.

I think he was trying to fit that airplane between the spokes to show off and forgot his shrink ray gun.
