Placing theming objects on top of eachother?

I'm looking at all the pre-made scenarios in RCT2 and seeing all of these cool structures in which different walls and supports with rooves or more wall sections placed on top of other objects . Try as I might I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Is there some kind of special secret?

Go to walls

Put a wall(s) down where you want them

Hold Shift and put more on top of the walls you put down first

You might spend a while, put it is worth it (looks nice :))

Why are people so lazy that they can't even read a game manual? This question keep coming up here over and over. I just don't understand.
