PKI's Mystery 3rd attraction

With the talk getting a little stale I am surprised to not hear a thing about the third thing being installed at PKI this coming year.

It was confirmed by Jeff Seibert in front of many of our faces closing day on the final Beast rides so it is beyond rumor and definitely fact.

Anyone heard anything or saw anything?

Here is a link to the post that talks quite a bit about that day.

Welcome to the New & Improved Coasterbuzz...tomfoolery allowed!

I thought that was it....confirmed at No coaster Con (I wasn't there). Sorry no wild mouse :(

Possible Moosh but it has been known for a while we'd get a new film for Action Theatre (I think?) I didn't know that was announced at NoCoasterCon. I am sure thast what it was. Jeff just pulling our legs again.

Speculation was for a new water park attraction. But when mentioning it Jeff mentioned the fact of all the land clearing around the park.

Sounds like Jeff spinning some good marketing again.

So those who said that Paramount's Kings Island was getting a wild mouse for 2003 were wrong...

Just you wait, you may see a wild mouse in 2003. You won't be able to ride it unless you are about 4 inches tall.

I never said PKI would get a mouse in '03, but I maintain steadfastly that PKI won't get a "regular" mouse....that still leaves several options, as there are several *non-standard* mice on the market. Spinning, Inverted, Wooden even (it *is* PKI, after all). The Screaming Squirrel I fear *is* too much to hope for. The lines would be short though, ;) Guest 3546 says: "Rollercoaster 1 looks way WAY too intense for me".

Who knows what Siebert and the gang are up to over there? Born on the park's birthday, didn't realize he was THAT young, lol....

Very good well-being lark this...
PLEASE do not have any fun with this post, there is SERIOUS coaster discussion going on here...;)

The 3rd attraction is the new Sponge Bob 3-D film in the Action Theater. Should be pretty cool!

Gator and Beastfreak, trust me, its not a mouse.

I stand by what I said. There will be a wild mouse with a max height of 4" to ride.

SOB_TOM, I am quite certain there is no mouse coming THIS year, and have been since the first announcement. Way WAY back there when the talk came up due to PKD and PCar getting mice, some insisted that PKI also get a mouse.....I concur, the park could *definitely* use one. Just based on PKI's history and their STANDING in the chain, I insist that *WHEN* PKI does get a mouse, (and I believe they will, but I'm betting on '05) it won't be "just like the other ones"....;)

Never once have I heard a PKI Rep say anything untrue or misleading.

However both Jeff and David Mandt are very smart men. The essence of Marketing and Public Relations is being able to say just enough, in the right way.

Now, I was not in the gasping groups of enthusiasts huddled around Mr. Siebert the final night of the season. I actually chose to hold away from the group with David and others that are not a part of the enthusiast group. However, from what I was told, Jeff indicated there would be a third attraction for 2003 that had yet to be announced. He then, smartly made a remark thereafter about the land clearning between Beast and TR:TR.

Thus it was left up to the imgainations of those that were there listening. Just because Mr. Siebert said there was a third yet-to-be-announced attraction at PKI in '03 and just because he mentioned something about the land clearing does not at all mean they are related. That is what everyone just assumed.

I have learned over the years to really listen to people and not base things on assumption. It's hard to do, but it really opens your eyes when you take that viewpoint. I learned it in a College Psychology class where they would test us and see if we based our opinions and ideas on fact or assumptions. 99% of the time the results showed most people see and hear what they want to, not what was actually shown or said.

The PKI Marketing is not at all untrue or malicious. Why, enthusiasts and guests love it when "mystery" surrounds a new attraction or change at the park. PKI has learned it works well for them, and have mastered the art of saying the right thing at the right time, without saying too much. This fuels speculation and intrigue, and results in word of mouth that lasts throughout the season. Why do you think CP held off the TTD announce for so long?

The third attraction at PKI is indeed Spongebob Squarepants and as far as I know, that's it..

Listen VERY closely from now on. I would suspect that perhaps Jeff's eluding to the cleared area could mean something, but just not for next season.....

Also, Beastfreak I have been chuckling with you about the Wild Mouse the whole time. Did you know PKI has had several of them?

Finally, a ride my pet rat can ride! He's a thrill seeker himself, always running around jumping off things. I'm sure he'll enjoy this!

Shaggy, the park has always had at least one "Wild Mouse". I've gone up and down and turned sharply from one way to the next. Its a great ride, though I've moved on and have been riding the "Rabid Racoon" and "Trapped Deer" more over the last year. Its more fun for adults and not as safe for children.

Don't forget the sneaky skunk or the grumpy goose.

Definetly the grumpy goose. Though I don't think I've ever ridden the sneaky skunk.

Beast Freak,

Your name takes on a whole new twist when you say you are "riding" racoons and deer.... Ewwww! ;)

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

LoL I just remembered the story about how my manager walked into Potato Works and there was a dead possum in the ceiling. I'd say that's a wild mouse indeed.
