Why was PKI's Drop Zone planned to be taller than the Eiffel Tower?

Also, the drop height, I believe, is 264 feet. Also, I`ve heard that the 332 foot number was when a rather large antenna sat on top of the Eiffel Tower. I do believe that that antenna has since been removed making the Eiffel tower stand at about 314 feet, or a foot shorter than Drop Zone. Shaggy could probably correct me if I`m wrong but I think that is what I read somewhere.

Come on, the PKI official site isn't that bad not to use it as a resourse. Drop Zone is 315' tall and drops 264' like many have said. The website lists the Tower at about 332', but I think I've heard the 314' stat as well and I think when PKI first advertised it, they said something along the lines of "higher than the Eiffel Tower". So, it was probably for the highest gyro drop record and then being taller than the Tower was something a little extra for the marketing.

I lived in Dayton when it was built and they said "it is eye to eye with the Eifel Tower" or something like that.

regardless of exact height (remember the top of the Eiffel Tower is higher than where people can actually stand)....I'd take PKI's Drop Zone over Acrophobia any day......the extra height is IMPRESSIVE......
