PKIGuide goes inside the Tomb

Posted | Contributed by Jacob

PKIGuide's latest construction update shows the first interior photos of Tomb Raider:The Ride. The update details both the queue entrance and the two queue buildings.

Funny, no-one's mentioned the obvious, if it was a Giant Top Spin, surely they would build it first, THEN the building around it - much easier that way. Since the building is being built first, who knows? :) I wonder if they have barn/hangar doors on the back face which would then allow large components inside.
Taipan,

Sure, you could look at it that way, but remember, the coaster part of Flight of Fear was installed AFTER they finished the building. Track sections were taken into the building one at a time.

As for the overall cost for TR:TR, I don't think the park has ever made an official announcement of the cost......other than it will be the most elaborate, and largest undertaking in their history. That doesn't always mean the most expensive.

Without making myself sound like a fool (which it is probably already too late for that anyway), those expecting 'just' a possible ride may be forgetting everything leading up to the ride........could be a attraction in itself.

Oh yeah, they built FOF that way to keep the inside a surprise. Thanks Sean.
Well fellow Coasterbuzz members, the big surprise is..... that it's a giant Top Spin in a box. Screamscape has all the proof you'll ever need.

SFA 2002-What are they building?

Well fellow Coasterbuzz members, the big surprise is..... that it's a giant Top Spin in a box. Screamscape has all the proof you'll ever need.

Intimanfan, Screamscape put out so much gossip that it's les believable than a 14 inversion giga woodie with floorless-stand up trains.  Also, there is a press release from PKI official site that say:

-While still unofficial, the cost of this attraction is reported to be more than the two-year Action Zone expansion, meaning a total cost of no less than $40 Million.

Acrophobia,  PKIGuide IS NOT the Official PKI site.  It's a personal site that I run, and I don't want you to take the article I wrote and call it the press release.  I provided a link to the press release, but all info on that page is independent of PKI.  Although I received the info from a good source, don't take it as gospel - that's why I said "unofficial."

Just wanted to clear that up.

The "I told you so..." is going to be so funny this spring/summer when this thing opens up.

The real question is who will be saying it...

Sounds like a simulator to me.. as of what variation, we will have to wait and see...

1.  It's PKI's 30TH Anniversery.  Do you really think they would be that dumb to have a Top Spin.

2.  Even if it will be a top spin, " YEAH RIGHT," look at all pki has done for you in the past years....... They have added Top Gun, Days of thunder-007 licence to thrill-7th Portal, FOF, THE 2 year renevation of Action Zone which includes Drop Zone and Face off, Son of Beast, aaaaaaannnnnddd a totally new kids area with two new rides, Wild Thornberries river adventure, and The Reptar rollercoaster!!!!!

3.  I think I've said this before but I'll say it again, all of you rollercoaster fanatics who were soooo hoping for your 400 foot Giga or whatever coaster, JUST WAIT ONE YEAR, I'm SSSUUUUUURRREEE PKI will get that giant world breaking giga in the next couple years or so.  PKI can't come out with a world record shattering coaster every year.

4.  For all you people who have your minds set that TR:TR is gonna be some giant top spin in a box with fire and ice effects, HOW THE HECK CAN YOU POSSIBLY KNOW!!!!!!!!!  PKI still has over 4 months to finish TR:TR And all you have seen is the first part of it!!!!!

NONONO TR:TR is going to be way more than a giant top spin, IT will be way more than any of us have anticipated.  All we can to down is sit our fanny's down and wait for TR:TR to reveal itself in the spring of 2002.

WARNING:  This has just been my opionion for those Top spin fanatics who are getting ready to pounce me....

I wandered over to http://www.coasterforce.com/hussthrill.htm and it seems fairly solidified regarding what the ride will be..
