PKI Walkback veterans- a question

I'm no longer a member of *certain nameless club* but I have my membership card that expired in April of this year. Was wondering how carefully they look at it- is it a quick glance, or they actually take the time to look at the expiration date? I will attempt to use it for the walkback, but would feel pretty stupid if I got nailed with an expired card. The expiration is really tiny and when I signed my name over it, I tried to cover the date and when that wasen't entirely sucessful, I sort of underlined my name to block it out. Do I have a chance of being sucessful with this idea and #2-I'm going with a friend who dosen't ride things but likes parks (go figure). Would he be allowed to walk back to the ride with me (assuming I can do it)and wait at the exit? All replies most appreciated. Thanks.
It depends sometimes its a quick glance and sometimes they take their time.
What you really should do is start a conversation with someone there and tell em that you didn't notice your membership expired and ask them if you could tag along.
Its like there's usually 12 or so members that show up and some without a guest and we're allowed up to 3(or4)guests.
I'll be there in about 2 weeks or so and if someone where to offer me a coke or something;),I really wouldn't mind.:)
When I was there they didn't ask to see the card. There were only 4 of us that day. I think as long as you meet by the ACE thing on the ground you should be good to go.

Ok, I feel kind of dumb, but I have been wondering about this for a long time... What exactly is the PKI Walkback?

-------------
Yeah Baby!!!
It's when members of ACE meet begining at 9:00am
for a 9:30am walk back to either the Beast or Son Of Beast. Its the park benefit to members allowing them(us) to line up early for the ride.
I am an ACE member from the West Coast, but will be visiting PKI in August. How do I get in on this?
You show up before 9:30am at the park.
When you first walk in to your right of the fountain is where we meet. There's a stone plaque on the ground which states PKI salutes ACE.
That's where we meet,it's either between the convenience corner store and Hanna-Barbra Collections shop or the Convenience Corner shop and the mens restroom.
I hope that answers your question.
The plaque is right in front of the mens restroom, to the right of the entrance.I've been there twice this year. The first time no one even asked if we had cards, the second time our cards were looked at closely. By the way, neither The Beast or Sonny would be up and running for park opening on either of my visits ( seems to be standard procedure), so we got to ride Face Off the first time and Vortex the second trip.Make sure you show your ACE card at the ticket window for your half price admission...
Cool! My wife and I, both recent ACE members, will be visiting PKI in about 5 weeks as part of our coaster vacation through Ohio.

Any other parks out there have walkbacks or similar benefits?

5 weeks and counting...
then the Millennium begins for me!
If you are an A.C.E. member, dont you get a magazine or brochure stating the benefits of being a member including perks at different parks? I am not trying to be a smarta$$ but shouldnt you already be aware of this?
Chitown... Funny thing, my wife had about the same reaction. I haven't gotten the newsletter or magazine yet. My wife and I are so new to ACE, I don't even think the ink is dry on the membership cards. Literally got them a couple days ago. I had checked out the ACE website, just not as thoroughly as I should have. I just noticed the walkbacks mentioned on the ACE website. I guess I should check things out a little more carefully. Anyway... I'm still glad I found out about the walkbacks from this forum. *** This post was edited by coasterchop on 7/11/2000. ***
Ok, I've always wondered one thing about the walkback, namely if you could take non-ACE members with you. 3, is it?
