PKI teaser... speculate away!

^Carowinds Connection has the Carowinds version of the teaser. You can view it here.

Somebody on the CC forum said that Top Gun will be operating at Carowinds during its holiday festival, so I think Kings Island might run a few outdoor coasters this time around too.

PKD is a little south of PKI, Carowinds is even more south to PKD.

Dollywood runs their coasters and attractions as long as the temp. doesn't drop below a specific point. I'd say PKD, PKI, and PCar are southern enough to probably do the same on certain days, esp. PCar and PKD. In the middle of Dec. last year, we rode THunderhead and Tornado countless times.

Having seen both the PCar and PKI versions, here's some thoughts:

  • I like how the videos are done much the same as a movie 'teaser' trailer. If Paramount Parks wants to 'be like Hollywood', they should do this more.
  • Carowind's version does not have the 'Again' part after 'The Magic Begins..."
  • I wonder if the other 3 parks are planning this as well?
  • This is my first time using bullets. Yay me!

The press conference is at 10AM and is open to the public.
RCMAC hit it all on the head. We used to wait for Winterfest' grand opening almost as much as the regular PKI season. They always did this event up so well, and I hope the tradition continues. I don't remember what coasters if any they ran back in those days. Outside the train ride they seemed to mostly center all the action around the International Street area. I spent most of my time on the ice rink when I went. Get ready for plenty of food, and hope for lots of open rides.

Though The Beach Waterpark has their own winter event across the highway, I hate to say it, when word gets out about Winterfest nobody will be at the Beach. However, one thing I hear they do at the Beach that is pretty cool though is layering some of the waterslides with snow and having family toboggan rides.

Boomerang Bay?...maybe? We can only hope! *** Edited 7/16/2005 4:26:53 AM UTC by Floorless Fan***

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah
Hmmm... too bad Futurama was a Fox property...

I'd like to see 'Santa-Bot's Flight Of Fear'.

Isn't PKI opening an indoor waterpark/motel? Winterfest could be a bigger draw for their new motel/waterpark during that time.

MOTEL?
Yep, the Great Wolf Lodge is planned to open in late 2006 and when we talked about Winterfest in the past and it returning, I always figured that the new indoor waterpark/hotel would push for PKI to do Winterfest.. Or maybe even it was the other way around!

Anyways, I was really excited to see the teaser and hear about this although a lot of us were secretly hoping this was the year anyways due to what was said on the back of the tickets. I definitely see them opening Scooby Doo (Christmas retheming?), the carousels, the train, (and due to that quite possibly..) Tomb Raider, and maybe even attempts at The Beast according to weather and temperatures like the survey hinted. Other possibilities include the Action Theatre and Flight of Fear.

I'm sure most of that would be enough to get a lot of enthusiasts and thrill-seekers back for a winter visit. I don't remember the event extremely well myself except that I loved it, but if it's anywhere near as amazing as Dollywood looks during theirs, you don't even need to ride anything and it's still a fun and breathtaking experience.
