Pictures of Son of Beast construction from the dry run/ACE day on 4/8/00, including trackwork, station, and loop, are now available by clicking the link below. Regarding progress, the tracking of the 2nd hill, transfer, turn before first drop, and turn into station still have to be completed. The chain is on and reportedly has been run. Still no concrete opening date, but it shouldn't be too long now.

Nice pictures, SOB looks like it will be an awesome ride. But the station is a little disappointing. With all of that wood in the ride, you would think they would build a nice rustic wood station, like on the Beast.
cool pics, but i think the same thing about the station it isn't that inpressing.

page is quite complete yet.
This coaster looks like it will definately live up to its expectations. It will be really interesting to experience a loop on a wooden roller coaster. With the addition of the SOB, it looks like PKI is going to be one of the better roller coaster landmarks in the country
I realize there is no 'concrete date' but is there any estimate? I'm looking at a visit on the 22nd, and hoping that it will be completed by then. Any insight is helpful.
Well, the season pass Pawprint preview event has been pushed back to the nights of 4/26 and 4/27. My _GUESS_ is that the public can ride starting the weekend of 4/29 (The weekend I'm in California, darnit :))
