Weather permitting, Paramount's Kings Island would like to invite entusiasts to join them for the final ride of The Beast for Paramount's Kings Island's 2002 season by meeting at the front entrance to The Beast at 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 3.

They did it last year, and even stuck by it when the Beast was only running 2 trains. It was very kind of them to do so.

Yes, its been a very nice tradition the park has had the last few years. I remember it was part of SOB Hart Hat Tour Day in 1999, then the Beast crew informally offered it in 2000, then the park formally offered it last year, and this year they are passing the invite around.

Sweet. I get to put two coasters to bed for the winter. The world's greatest Steelie and the world's longest Woodie. Ah, sweet joy.
I love how Rob just included me in that group before I even knew about it. I guess he just assumed that since I was there... Of course, I'm not turning down the invite!

If they do it as has been done in the past, what happens is they cut the line at closing time for the general public. During this time the enthusiasts mingle in Beast plaza waiting for the queue to empty out and the GP to finish riding, then the enthusiasts are admitted to the Beast for one ride. If there are over 36 present, yes they will be split up into two (or more if need be) trains.
In some years they have admitted the enthusiasts for the final ride using the original exit path. (That is through the service gate next to the current Beast entrance and to the end of that path to about where the nature trail through the woods used to be (who else remembers there was a nature trail and canoe rental in this corner of the park, quite the rustic recreational park theme), then across the bridge, where then finally up one of the emergency exit stairways.

I'll be there and I have made the suggestion for a flyerfest about 4pm.
Anyone care to join us?
Last year was much fun despite long lines. John Peck and many others of us had fun the last couple hours even though the park was jammed, It was still fun with all of us at the flyers, Chatting, Flying and watching the others SNAP like crazy!
Chuck, who will also be at the flyers for a spell around 10:30 :)
BTW, I want to thank PKI for doing this again this year. My thanks gose out to them. Be sure to thank Jeff and the gang personally sunday :)
