PKI Extends it season!

In the newsletter that came today for PKI it said that they will now be open November 6th and 7th.
Note that the park isn't open in September after Labor Day to season pass holders and general admission buyers due to buy-outs.

Awwwww Crap!!!! I already made plans that weekend. I should have known, especially after the last four years of extra weekends :)

Hopefully Winterfest makes its return at the end of next season and you'll have plenty of weekends to plan a trip there. ;)

It only makes sense to bring the event back with the new resort/indoor waterpark, a solid amount of indoor rides (TRTR, FOF, Scooby, FX Theatre) and attractions, sell more passes with a look at the following season's additions, make the "off-season" a little easier to get through, etc. ;)

PKI Hot Chocolate.... That's the stuff during winterfest. ;)

I can almost guarantee winterfest will not take place this winter.

Chuck, who doesn't know that for fact but hasn't heard even the slightest wisper about it other than a survey.

PKI markets heavily and PKI would already be doing so, just like the announced FearFest would return early on this season.

For those of us that have never experienced a PKI Winterfest can someone describe what they do?
Heck yea! This is great news as I was going to give up the final day at Cedar Point this season for PKI. Now I can do both!

No Winterfest this year, thats a gimme.

Winterfest thatI can remember was Ice Skating on the fountain location, horse and buggy rides, pony rides, hot chocolate, some gifts to take home, and some other stuff I can't remember.

PS: They did drape the tower in Christmas lights and called it the worlds largest Christmas Tree.

The only Winterfest I was at was pretty much show oriented. That was of course when they had the Festhaus showing shows and the Enchanted Theater as well. They did have some rides open which, depending on your particular weather fortunes, could be fun to ride or a real chill fest.

There was of course the other stuff that Dane mentioned.

Theme Park Brochures has a Winterfest map from 1991.

If I recall correctly, Winterfest was losing attendance to the Festival of Lights (Cincy Zoo) and was losing badly as it went along.

Neat. As Sean said, no more decision between Cedar Point and PKI on closing day. I like going to parks in November around here. Weather was wonderful closing weekend last year. Here's to the same weather this year!
Humm looks like I will be making a trip out to PKI for sure now :).

Im glad I decided to make plans for the following weekend. I had a feeling that they would ad on an extra weekend! Yay!
I can't believe that I might actually have to go back to CP for a 6th (or 7th?) time this year on their closing week. Shoot! ;)

+Danny, happy that we don't have to make a choice now for those undecided
