The weather here in Ohio has been unusually warm lately, in the 60's, so what a perfect time for a winter tour! Wrong! Overnight Ohio got a wonderful cold snap that dropped us below freezing and made it a very COLD tour. The tour started at 9:00 with a walk out to the parking lot to see the recent delievery of IJ:ST pieces. There was transfer track, nuts, bolts, supports, and track. So we all spent a bit of time by the track taking pictures and just having a good time. But wait a minute the track in the lot is not yellow it is gray. It is not Primer gray it is paint gray and that is what it is staying. So after a bit of time in the parking lot it was time to head inside the gates.
Once inside the gates we heard that the Eiffel Tower and Face/Off would be receiving some new paint this year. We then proceded to walk to the IJ:ST site where a lot was going on. The center of that park is now full of mountains and valleys to accomodate the terrain part of the coaster. They were working on the Parking structure and the cement walls for the subway and splash down. There is no roller coaster structure up at this time which I found surprising for January. We continued around the site taking pictures and talking to friends. A lot of us agree that a lot of work is to be done for this to be ready by opening. My many thanks once again to Jeff and Maureen for a great tour.
