According to a blurb I heard on the radio about 5 minutes ago, PKI attendnace dipped for the second season in a row, despite a $40 million investment in new thrill rides.
They also said that Cedar Point was the most attended seasonal park.
I guess the adage, build a major coaster, get an attendance spike doesn't apply anymore. Or was the park going public scared over the early season stage fright that SOB had. Lots of folks claimed it was unsafe.

Weather played a major roll for the attendance issue. If this summer is better; and the economy rebounds. It should set atttendance records.
I'm pretty sure it was the daily negative press against the park and the ride, combined with constant closures the first half of the season. Why go if you can't ride? Go to the PKI page in the parks section here and look up all of its news. There sure are a lot of headlines over this thing, and none of them good.

I thought Great Adventure had more visitors last summer than Cedar Point. Last time I checked, Great Adventure was a seasonal park, too...

Who reminds you that there is only one "o" in "loses"
Wow, and PKI had such a powerful 3rd and 4th quarter with the Fright fest deal.
I think that the explanation all lies in the luck of the drawl.

What is life without geniuses?
Drawl? Because it's in the southern Ohio?

All I can say is Son of Beast fiasco.
Excuse me, Jeff. Just because some of us live 'just north of the border' to Kentucky doesn't mean we all have drawls. Y'all up north 'ere need be a lil' more curteus to us southern folk, ya here. :)
Anyway, since when is it lucky to have a drawl?
Just messin with you.....happy new year everyone, 40 minutes and counting.
Well, coastergenius quite obviously meant to say draw... But anyways, it's all just because of those damned high gas prices!
