It was amazing, even without the special effects. I suggest you wait until you ride it to judge.
yea, i just got off Expedition Everest, and its gonna blow as well....so slow and family oriented, its tragic;)

still trying to think of a good signature...

coasternut,

Unless something has drastically been changed since last Saturday, it is impossible to see the entire layout of the ride as a good portion of the ending is hidden in a long tunnel, which 'may' contain a surprise or two.

Also dont forget because its testing they may be tweaking around with the speed of the launch in order to determine whats the optimal speed for the ride.

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

FYI... they're way past the water dummy stage. PKI employees have been riding.

That thing really hauls ass between the police cars. Heck, the whole thing is a lot faster than I thought it would be. All of that nice theme stuff and you'll go by it too fast to see it!

Looking at Trick Track's video it looks pretty good to me. They are still testing so I am sure that there are still a lot of adjustments to be made to the ride.
Sean Flaharty,

I agree that you can't see in the tunnel part so there may be some cool effects in there but when you watch it dive into the tunnel from the helicopter scene it is out of the bilboard and splashing down in about 6-7 secs. I'd also like to know though if the tunnel is going to be in complete darkness or like FOF, with spotlights everywhere. I think complete darkness would definately add something, especially if they do add some sort of "surprise" element.

coasternut,

Yes, the ending tunnel section of the ride is very quick. I have a feeling people will be surprised with the tunnel as you can't see that portion of the layout until you are on the ride.

Heck I'm impressed with what I see from that video, I like the pictures too.

Like what coaster?

Think of it as Paramounts version of a heavily themed special effects coaster like those found at the Disney and Universal Studios parks. Not big on thrills, it's all about the experience, but definitely big on theming and the fun factor.

I was thinking the same thing Jomo. BTMRR isn't supposed to be very fast or riders wouldn't experience all the themed elements. Let's wait and see.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Even without the cool theming IJ has, I think it would be a really fun ride. Some are calling it a launched verion of Adventure Express. Perhaps even a rich man's LoCoSuMo?

As Shaggy has pointed out in a previous post, the coaster has been ridden. It was described as "very fun" and "surprising!"

-Sean

Im sure most of you will get to ride it before I visit on media day.

If it's good, I'll say so, If it's not, I'll say so.

Chuck, who apreciates PKI's hospitality the've shown amongst all my b*tchin

Well, it won't be soft opening this weekend. I can't say much, but there has been a problem which helps to explain the slow speed.
