Oops...accidently hit the enter button before I typed anything...anyway, here's what my problem is.
It's not that I'm not happy with a dark ride. Dark rides are great, but not at PKI. I love this park, don't get me wrong, I've grown up in it, but they can't hold theming to save thier lives. Let's look at Top Gun. It was great when it first came out. You walked through an air craft carrier and smoke popped out under the coaster when it took off, but now there's nothing but a big jet picture as theming.
Then you have Adventure Express. A great themed mine ride gone to waste because PKI just doesn't take care of their theming. At the end, the once neat stone dudes only move one arm usually and must be winking at you, because PKI doesn't change thier light eyes.
The worst which should show you what a Tomb Raider dark ride would eventally end up like is the Phantom Theater (which should still be the Smurf ride). It's like they haven't cleaned that place since they made it. And it's not so dark in there anymore because of theming, it's because they don't change the light bulbs. Some of the ghosts move now and some don't because of neglect.
I think this ride could be great for this year and next but knowing PKI's track record with keeping up on theming, I think it's a bad idea.
------------- I don't want to get started on the Action Zone and FoF theming. Leave the park to the rides, PKI. Let IOA do the theming!
All was well in the Phantom Theater today -- plenty dark and all ghosts "ghouling" away. When was the last time you took a ride? :-/

Hmmm...I wonder if they replaced the light technician ghost's flashlight. That was the saddest thing I'd seen. It used to flash in everyone's face when he'd turn out the lights, when I was there a couple weeks ago it'd just be like him turning out the lights because you could not see his flashlight bulb lit at all. And the glass to the main ballroom was so dirty you focused more on what all the stains could possibly be than what was going on. Also, just looking around on my 2nd ride there, I saw countless burned out lights throughout the ride that made it much darker than it was originally intended to be. This might make it better for the folks who ride it just to make-out, but you could also hardly see some of the ride. I'm just using this ride as an example as to how I believe PKI will let a perfectly good themed ride like Tomb Raider rot after its initial shock value has passed.

Well look how they kept up the son of beast theming in year 2! All the trash cans still have the containment compund labels on them. Just Kidding, I think they should use the Top Gun theming more than it is used
