Well I decided to try my senses in the worlds tallest fastest wooden coaster (and there other coasters). And here is my report on PKI's rides.
Son of Beast: This ride I did first as the park opened. Some have said that you can hear it from anywhere in the park going up the lift. While it is a noisy lift I could not hear it back at vortex and not at beast. I rode it twice. First time very front. A great view. And overall when I got off I thought it was a great wooden coaster. It had great speed. Not rough on any parts except I noticed the cars sliding sideways on a few turns. But overall a smooth coaster. Villain in my book still holds up better. Then later I rode in the back seat on SOB. That ride to me was better. Not rough, fast. The loop seemed like any other to me. A fine coaster that I would certainly ride again and again.
Beast: I rode this twice. I like how you can only see the lift from anywhere in line. And how they cleverly designed it into the hills and land. The tunnels were superb. I think I like this better than SOB. The reason being it is designed better. Not a out and back but a ride where you are not real certain where you are going. And the G's in those helix's were GREAT. (Yes this was my first time at PKI) Not rough at all. MS at CP is ten times worse than SOB or Beast. I rode in the front and back, both were good rides I seem to like the back a little better in both coasters (SOB & beast) though.
Racer: I rode it backworks and that is a great feeling going backwords, got air on some hills and overall a good woodie. Probably the roughest of the three woodens but not as bad as MS.
Outer limits: A nice LIM ride. However the overhead harness seems to bang into your head in some spots on the ride. The middle was too slow. The middle trims almost totally stop you and then you need to pick up your speed all over again. I prefer the constant speed, don't stop.

My first PKI trip will be next Sunday and Monday. Good to know SOB is opening on time now. I have pretty good expectations about this place. Thanks for the TR. SFO, however, I'm not too optimistic.
SOB opened at about 10:20am. Waiting for the front car was about 35 minutes. Other things I forgot to mention. On SOB the lift gets louder as the train gets higher. When cresting the lift is when it is the loudest. On my ride in the back I quickly realized that most of the noise had to be the antirollbacks in that car. As it rattled something fierce. Amplify the Raptor rattle in the back car by about 15 and that was how loud it was. I also did like the drop on SOB fast and smooth.

Whose Line is it Anyway?
To those that have had rough rides on SOB, (many people have told me they hated SOB as it was very rough). all I can say is this.
I compare wooden coasters to Mean streak at CP. SOB was not near that bad. Neither was beast for that matter. I rode very front and second to last row in the back car. To those with rough rides, maybe you had a bad wheel or no grease or something. When I walked off SOB I said I want to ride that again!! Not what I say after MS. For those that have not ridden SOB I hope my report helps in any possible way. My thoughts on PKI a great park if you like wood. Not a great park if you like steel.
