PKI 5-12-01

We arrived at the park some time between 11:00 and 11:30. Our first ride was going to be Son of Beast. This was the first time at PKI for several years and back then I was to scared to ride the coasters, so I was going to make up for that.

We walked straight to SOB and got in line. As we stood in line we all looked at how steep the lift hill was. After about a 45 min. wait we made it to the station and got to pick out seats. I'm not sure the exact seats, but I think it was the 4th car. We rolled out of the station and I was shocked at how much speed we picked up right off that little drop. The first drop was amazing, almost unbelievable. The drop into the helix was also great and very intense, so intense that it pushed me so far into the seat that water was squeezed out of the seat and soaked into my pants. The loop and final helix was also great, as well as intense. When we got off all of us said that it was very intense, smooth, and very fun (up there with MF).

Next we went back to FOF, and waited our two hour wait. I must say that the mirror inside the building was a good trick, fooled me, but the story was rather boring and not that good. We got into the station picked the last two rows in the train and buckled in. The launch was amazing, something I've never experienced before. The boomerang was some what intense and the turn afterwards was cool too. I had no idea where I was going through out the ride and very confused and dizzy after I got off. FOF was a lot of fun and for the first time ever on a coaster, I didn't know which way was up.

Following that we went back past the Vortex and Beast and got a bite to eat at the Potato place. Then went and got inline for the Beast. I had never been on this ride and for a woodie I thought that it was rather smooth. This coaster was so fast and I had know idea where it was going to go next. The final helix was so intense and very fast, my favorite part of the ride. The tunnel made it look like I could reach out and touch the wall. Overall a very good ride and could ride all day if I had the chance.

Top Gun was next and after about a 45 min wait this short but fun ride gave us our ride. The turn by SOB was a lot more stronger than I remember.

We then went and rode Vortex. I rode in the front for the first time in my life, and was very pleased. I was smashed into my seat as much as I was out of my seat. Altogether a great ride with very little head banging. Also it was braked heavily and I left my seat in the corkscrews.

We circled back up and around past the Beast and towards the front of the park to ride Face/Off. Since it was almost seven and we had to be back to the bus at 8:30 we decided not to wait the hour and half wait because it would be too close. We instead chose to wait the hour wait to ride SOB again.

Our second ride was a lot rougher than the first. I bounced a lot at the bottom of the first hill and at the lowest part of both helixes. While still fun it was not nearly as smooth as the first ride.

All in all it was a great day and I rode a lot of intense yet very fun rides.
People say that Son of Beast is a lot smoother in the morning than at night.
Yea SFDL06, thats definetly true I was there yesterday. In the early afternoon the ride was as smooth as I remember but at night the ride had more of a 'too' out of control feeling, especially at the bottom of both helixes, but hey it's a 200ft. wooden roller coaster, what do ya expect?!

Great TR Force. I'm very happy that despite the slightly longer-than-usual Saturday waits, it sounds like you had a really good time. Don't tell me you didn't get a ride on Racer or Vortex. And if you've never ridden an invertigo, I'll let you know, Face/Off is very intense as well. I hope you got to ride Drop Zone too. Very fun!

PKI-Wooden, Helix, and Kiddie Coaster Capital of the World!
And I LOVE CP, so Get Up Out of My Azz About It! :)
I didn't get to ride Racer this time, but I rode the forwards before. Maybe next time I'll get to ride backwards.

I got to ride Vortex, like I said above it was fun.

Face/Off looks like a lot of fun, but do time we didn't get a chance to ride. Drop Zone also looks like fun, but it was strictly a roller coaster day.

I really don''t mind the long lines, but I could do without them. I did have a good time at PKI.
