PKI 2001 schedule

I just visited PKI`s webpage and found their 2001 operating schedule. I was surprised by the fact that they close on Saturday`s in October at 7! (I remember when they closed at 10 in October) Also, on certain days are "limited days" and not all the attractions are operating. Any one know why? [I assume the early October closings are for FearFest.] BTW, any one know what the 2001 attraction is? (check out pki`s webpage for more at www.pki.com
PKI's new expansion is a mystery at this point.

Some may recall when season passholders recieved a newsletter detailing a Junior Inverted coaster, and a remodeling of the Kings Mills Log Flume.

All was happy, and announced right? Wrong. As part of a NAPHA outing, a tour of the construction area was included. While our host, Jeff (no relation to our fine webmaster) did confirm the Log Flume remodel, and we could see work going on with the Log Flume, Jeff was uncertain about the Junior Inverted, pointing to its designated plot of land and proclaiming, "And this is a big ?, seriously we don't know what's going here yet. You may have read about a new rollercoaster but that information is VERY tentative at this time"

He then advised us to wait till November for the official announcement, November came and we are told wait till February.

Jeff also confirmed the new 3D ride film, The 7th Portal.

Early closing on Saturday in October is almost assuredly for Fear Fest. From the mass confusion witnessed in the main gate area last year during the overlap of the Fear Fest event, and normal operations, having an hour to clear the park out would a)Allow them to secure the park and assure it is devoid of guests, and B) Allow for a calmer transition. It would also allow them to do away with the armband.

Limited operation days? I bet those are the days that are limited already, but they jus't don't tell you. Instead the post a "Sorry! Due to.... Not all rides will be operating today"

I went on a Saturday the season before last and it was just plain dead. Of course, with Ohio weather, you never know what you'll get. Look at Cedar Point's last two Saturdays. The second to last was dead (it dropped to around 30 something degrees) while the last Saturday set records. It's a gamble, I guess, and I bet PKI is being really cautious.

So no one really knows what PKI is adding next year besides the renovated Log Flume? Also, is the only thing different on FLight of Fear this year the loss of "Outer Limits?" Also, the p[ark says it opens on the 7th of April, but the countdown on there webpage is to the seventh of May, any one know why?
