My friend and I headed down to Kings Island on a rainy and cold Friday evening. We arrived just before 5, and I got my season pass processed. Now, I only have Cedar Point's season pass processing to compare to this one, but man, this park knows what they are doing, it took no more than 5 minutes to get everything, plus you get some great coupons.
Light drizzle with 40 degree temperatures, it was perfect :) The park was nearly dead, most things were closed. The coasters I made it on were The Beast, Outer Limits: Flight of Fear, Face/Off, Racer (backwards), and Beastie. I also got a ride on Drop Zone.
The highlight of the evening was by far The Beast. We were on the second train, we rode front seat first, it completely tore us up, not to mention it was freezing outside. We then rode in the back seat with again the intensity that I have only received on The Beast, it was truly flying.
It was a challenge trying to find something to eat, almost every stand was closed. Festhaus was open, so I ate in there for the first time.
Vortex, Top Gun, and Adventure Express did not even open up for the evening, so we never made it to those.
We were talking to the ride ops at the Sky Tours in Hanna-Barbara Land, and they told us the park was closing at 7:30 due to inclement weather. We were pretty ticked off, so we just kept wandering around, unfortunately everything was closed, and had been for a little while.
We went to the Paramount Action Zone, hoping we could at least get a look at SOB. I was at the park on opening day, but didn't get a chance to go back and check it out. The security guard stopped us and told us that the park was closed. He told us we would be able to stop at Guest Relations and get tickets, which I was happy about.

I have heard The Beast has been running very well since the end of last season. If that is the case, keep it up PKI.

I was there on that same day 4-22-00.I stayed at PKI's resort for the weekend and also headed back to the park the next day.
Did you get to see them test SOB?They where breaking in the second coaster train at about 7:30.I just made it out of the Festhause and headed toward the Action Zone when I got to see it.Oh man talk about a great lookin ride that sucker was fast.
I just cant wait to ride it sometime this summer.
