I missed the last statement "

*** Please note, that you should not take some points of this seriously!!! I did not in fact break ANY park rules. *** *** Edited 4/5/2004 4:58:42 PM UTC by eric.walton***

I would like you to further explain that quote. I am not sure if you followed all the rules and fictional made up the part about only having one click and removing your seat belt. Or did you actually do all those things but felt that you were not breaking the rules.

If you followed all the rules I Apologize for trying to correct your unsafe behavior and did not realize that the part about the seat belt and only one click was made up. Do not take my response as a verbal attack against, but more as a concern of your safety and any other coaster enthusiast or guest who goes to amusement parks. As a former ride operator on the Beast, I also take particular interest in the Beast, and Paramount Kings Island, thus I would not want to see anyone get hurt on the Beast or on any ride at Paramount Kings Island, when simply following the rules could have prevented the injury. Once again sorry if I did not completely read the whole message before responding and did not understand that certain parts of the trip report and all safety rules were followed

However what I said is very important and goes for any coaster enthusiast or any park guest. Safety is a serious issue that the amusement park industry does not take lightely. The success and future success of amusement parks and roller coasters depends on the overall safety of the guest and the employees of the park.

Whether you were JOKING or not no one should ever post anything like this on Coasterbuzz or anywhere else as it will be taken seriously. And people wonder why parks are starting to shy away from holding any enthusiast events. It is NO laughing matter.

The Golden Rule - Try it once and if you don't like you don't have to go on again!
Beast Fan, I think you have put it best. While I don't know for sure, because I don't know the guy, I do think he was making up the unsafe things. But I could be wrong. That happens time to time.

What you said was right though, if he did it or not, we don't know, but what we do know is that it isn't right to post about it. I don't know about others, Beast Fan, but I thank you for your thought out post.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." ~ Dave Barry
I agree with Sarah...

It was simply a poor joke, delivered inappropriately, in very poor taste.

However, in typical coaster related message board fashion, the crowds are waiting with torches and clubs poised to attack.

Let it go.

Don't know how I missed this thread in it's inception, but I can definitely say this much for Eric...

1. I have been to parks with him many times, and he does not take knives into parks and would react negatively towards anyone who he knew did.

2. I was with him at SRM 03 and trust me, he knows all about Tamar and the events surrounding and leading up to her untimely death. We were all very saddened by the events and took every bit of the "lesson to be learned" seriously.
