PKD Questions

I will be going to PKD in a couple weeks, and have a few questions. I'll be going on a Wednesday.

1. Are any discount tickets available?

2. Which coasters should I ride in order? I am planning on riding Hypersonic right when it opens, then hitting Volcano. Also, which coasters SHOULDN'T I ride?

3. What are the waits usually for the coasters? Will I need that Fastlane thing?

4. Where should I eat lunch/dinner? I'll eat just about anything. I've heard that the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant is good. Also, how is Stan Mikita's?

5. Are there any good flat rides that I should ride, or should I just focus on the coasters?

If you could answer some of my questions, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

1) You could probably find some discounts on a can of soda. Go to a gas station near to the park and see what you can find.

2) As you said, Hypersonic first. Once you've gotten on that, Volcano's lines will probably be somewhat long already. In order to not waste time walking back and forth, get a ride or two on Hurler and Rebel Yell before going to Volcano. After Volcano, go to Avalanche, Flight of Fear, Anaconda, then Shockwave. After Shockwave, go to Grizzly. That covers all the adult coasters but you may want to check out Scooby Doo. As for what you shouldn't ride: Are you crazy? Ride everything! :)

3) If you get on Hypersonic when the park opens, it won't be long at all. Later in the day, it will be 1-2 hours. Remember that Hypersonic isn't too reliable as the day goes on. You can get a fastpass for Volcano or wait about 45 minutes. Flight of Fear is usually 15-45 minutes. The rest are rarely over 15 minutes.

4) To save a lot of money, eat lunch at Burger King across the street from the park. ;)

5) Definitely ride Berserker, the parks swinging Inverter Ship.

Hope that helps you out!

The preceding statement is false.
Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely keep all that in mind!

Try Giant groceries and Burger King for discounts.
Giant food does not have any discounts for august,I checked.
Coke cans will give you $8 off weekdays, $4 off weekends. I found some specially marked cans for the Paramount Parks when I visited my in-laws in Charlotte. However, PKD's most recent TV ad said bring any Coke product can for the discount. As said by Compressed Airhead ride everything. And make sure the first thing you do is ride Hypersonic. I just went yesterday and was able to get on the 4th train of the day. That was a good thing because they only ran about ten before shutting it down for the day. Volcano will be up and down so if you see it open catch it while you can. Anaconda is usually a walk-on or a very short wait, and is really a good coaster. I didn't find it rough at all. FoF is truly awesome with the lap bars, you will want to ride it over and over. Catch coasters as you pass them because lines are going to be relatively short for all of them. Have fun.
Glad to here about the short lines. I drink a lot of Coke, so I'll be sure to pick up some cans.

Thanks everyone for the advice!
