Just thought you'd all like to see the new Tomb Raider: Firefall pictures direct from PKD. Seems the ride itself is just about done with themeing being the only real piece left...

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

Those big ole Huss's are always an impressive sight. Those pics are extra large as well, wow!

I mentioned the new TR:FF pics in the PKD renames tomb raider thread just a few days ago,I also mentioned that there'll be a construction tour on the 16th as well.

Now if only we can find out when SFA's gonna announce......the suspense is just driving me nuts.

is my eye decieving me on those Tomb Raider pics...or is PKD really about to install a single row Top Spin? i certainly hope not, or you can kiss good capacity goodbye, especially being on the footsteps of Volcano. also, is this going to be an outdoor attraction? or are they just waiting to install the building around it?

still trying to think of a good signature...

the other row is behind it. Its the floorless model...

It does looks like the Riptide version. Way cool. They need more of these because they definately give a more thrilling ride than the standard models.

Certain victory.

^I agree. If they do any special effects (water, fire) if will be that much more effective with the floorless top spin. Riptide's water effects are fun.

I take it this one is going to be built outside, unlike TR:TR at PKI?

Yup. We'll be roughing it in the great outdoors:) That's great that it'll be a floorless Top Spin. Being the flat ride nut that I am, March can't get here soon enough.
Another plus of the floorless model... everyone get's a front row seat... should be good. Hopefully the new name, "Firefall," is an indication that the ride's themeing will contain a fair amount of fire worked into the themeing.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

^^Amen to that I-Fan...I too am pleased that it's a floorless model & that it'll be outdoors.

From the angle of the pics it's quite difficult to see how many seats are gonna be on each side, what's Riptide's capacity per cycle? I think it's either 20 to 40 but I'm not entirely sure.

Looks to be 19 per side or a total of 38 riders per cycle...not as good as Drop Zones 56 riders per cycle, and considering TR will definitely have a MUCH longer ride cycle than Drop Zone, the line could get pretty long, but with Volcano, Avalanche and Scooby Doo all right there in the general area, that could help lines.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

Looks cool. Too bad i promised myself i wouldn't go back to my homepark until they got a coaster with a chain lift, even then it'll be debatable. *** Edited 2/10/2005 10:58:53 AM UTC by bowtobusch***
