PKD opening day....my observations

Associated parks:
None

I know there are already 2 reports, but i thought id give my 2cents on my home park, at least on the major rides and changes i noticed.

Volcano did indeed have fire erupting while the trains came out of the mountain. Also, the trains have new seats and shoulder restraints....gone are the big yellow horsecollars, now they are black and not quite as large as before, at least they seemed. There is just one seatbelt that hooks between your legs now, and all the seats now have side bars to them. Before there would be one here or there, now they all have them.

XLC ran all day without glitch, even thought it was a one train operation. Still intense as ever on the launch, but it still doesnt rip over the hill like it did in its opening season.

FOF...well, for some reason my fav spaghetti bowl seemed a lil rough, it might have been because i havent ridden her since october, then again it was probably because i rode in the backseat. I can tell you guys one thing, this was the only coaster in the park that made me feel G's. They say you get immune during the season to them, but then after u go through off season and ride again, they'll hit ya. Well, FOF was the only one i felt them on, that cobra roll into sidewinder combo kept me plastered against the seat with my stomach in my throat!

Drop Zone..... It was my first Intamin gyro drop, and i was totally blown away! I wish the seats tilted, that would have been totally insane, but hey, the tallest drop ride in north america didnt disappoint. You stop very close to the ground, and as someone else reported, the brakes are very strong, but yet extremely smooth.

Lines were minimal, the wait for DZ was nearly non existant. XLC ran only one train, but even so we only waited 30 minutes to ride. VTBC and FOF each had about a 10 to 15 minute wait, and i got a ride on Volcano in the dark in the front seat....if u have never done that, give it a shot, it was a totally different experience.

Now, the only thing we need is an Intamin or a Morgan hyper...*drool* PKD if u are reading this please, bring us a hyper !

Hypersonic did lose a front row seat for about half an hr for a restraint problem around 3:00p

My shirt in my photo seems to be for "Aging Bull"

A hyper would be nice but I'm thinking a floorless is on it's way next.

Does the Paramount chain have any floorlesses? Just on other trends, I would guess a giant Huss.

Yes, or a Super Saturator, now that DF is gone. I think Paramount is trying to get the Scooby Doo interactive in all parks, now that they have DZ in all parks, and I feel the Super Saturator or something like it coming on, as Well as Huss flats(much needed, in my opinion). Maybe a Hyper one day, but only time will tell...

Yeah, if coasters WEREN'T men we'd have Raging Cow instead!;)

Do they still have the scrambler? I heard it got moved, but I haven't been there yet this year.
Yes, scambler was re-located near volcano.

Also, the "black" restraints on volcano were added last year, but the new seat belts are the addition for this year.
