I received a mailing yesterday from PKD which basically detailed what is new for 2002, and also enticing me to go ahead and renew my season pass. If I buy a 2002 pass now and get it processed, I get a free ticket to use now in the 2001 season. Current passholders can renew for $74.99. New passholders can buy for $79.99.
The mailing announced the two new rides for 2002. Of course there was Ricochet, then there was Triple Spin. Ricochet was billed has having "14 crazy twists and turns".
The big rip was FearFest. Regular admission this year is $29.99 at the gate. Season passholders have to pay $19.99. Do other parks charge season passholders admission to their Halloween festivities? I have only been to BGW Howl-O-Scream, so enlighten me. Maybe PKD considers FearFest "off-season", therefore everyone pays.
Anyway, for those of you considering PKD passes for next year, now is a great time to buy.
I've never heard of a park charging guests with Season Passes... well until FastLane came along that is.

Does it say when the official opening date is? Also how much general is admission in 2002?
I think Universal and IOA charge extra for their Halloween weekends, although i'm not 100% sure if seasons pass holders have to pay.
There is no mention of opening dates or general admission prices for 2002. The only dates and prices they mention are regarding 2002 season passes, which are on sale now.
I can't believe they are only charging 29.99 for fear fest addmission when the regular season addmission price is at least 10 dollars higher. I'm heading out there this saturday(as long as it doesn't rain) and still have not been able to find any discounts.
PKI is like that too, I havent gotten mail from them yet, but on their site it says that if you are a passholder and you renew your pass for 79.99 you get free parking. and for $5 more you get gold pass added onto it, It's kinda off topic but I thought I should put that up.
Oh yeah, most places do charge extra for their FearFest or whatever its called nights. Just that season pass holders get a cheaper ticket :)

The empty Coke can in my office trash gives $8 off on weekdays and $4 off on weekends. Also try Burger King for discount coupons. There's one right across from the park.
