PKD IJ:TC Verticle Construction has Started

Almost 4 months after it was announced, and only a little over 2 months before PKD's opening day, the first track segment of PKD's IJ: Turbo Coaster has been installed (look at the picture all the way on the right on the top row of pictures, you can see a wee little bit of track coming out of the ditch). For those unfamiliar with the ride, I can try to explain what you're seeing in each picture (or at least what I'm pretty sure it is). The first picture is the backside of the turn that the train makes after the splash down, it's the 180* turn that leads into the station. In the second picture, the large structure in the back is the helicopter scene, which would make the footers in the front the part where you dodge between the police cars. The third picture is taken from about right under where the helicopter scene would be. The station would be right about where that green/teal backhoe is with the turn around (seen in the first pic) being there to the left of the red backhoe. The track you see there is where the layout makes the 180* turn coming out of the helicopter scene. The ride finishes from that track segment by going off the right side of the pic, making another 180* turn to the left, through the billboard, into the splash down, and around that final turn (behind the red backhoe). The last pic is taken from about where the station would be looking towards the helicopter scene. The layout sends the train off the right side of that large structure, into a sharp diving curve into that ditch you see more in the foreground.

Enjoy!

Nice.

That's one of the many side effects of posting at 3:00 am EST... ughhh...
