PKD: Hypersonic XLC

Associated parks:
None

Last Thursday me and a few of my friends went to PKD. We arrived at the park about 10 minutes after it opened. We literally sprinted to Hypersonic. We got there and it wasn't open yet. Since last time my friend and I went to PKD we didn't get to ride it, we decided to wait in line. About 15 minutes after we got to Hypersonic one of the test runs was at the top of the hill and we saw something from the train fly off. It was a blue pad that looked like a headrest. We asked the employee and he said that it was a headrest. So after about 25 minutes if opened. They were letting people into the line and station in groups. We were the second group. We got up to the station and saw that they were running two trains. We got in line for the back row and within two trains we were on. We pulled down the heavy restraints and left the station. We paused a moment to be weighed, then it was on to the launching pad. Click, BEEP BEEP BEEP and we were off!!! That launch is like nothing you have ever expierenced. You just get pinned to your seat and fly straight out and straight up the 165' hill. At the top you see sky then about half a second later you see the ground and you are headed straight for it. Then, we pulled out of the drop went around the turn where the on ride photo was and went up the bunny hill. Which gives some very good air time ( as does the peak of the first hill). That's it, short but sweet. If I had to wait 4 or 6 hours for it I would.

3..2..LAUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was there, too, and my only word of advice is when you hit that last little hill, the brakes slam, be ready for it, they don't slow down and wait to stop you after it, like the coaster show Extreme Rides 2001 was showing(they must stop us there now for multiple cars), the car stops at the bottom of the hill very abruptly, and I would wait 7 or 8 hours for it.......
Are the fastlane passes open yet for Hypersonic?

The fastlane passes were not distributing passes while I was there.

3..2..LAUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As of 7/3/01 PKD was not using fastlane passes for Hypersonic. Hypersonic is probably the most fun coaster I have ever ridden, even with it's short length.
It's short length really packs the ride in. We were there the 21st, they said passes would start being issued the first, maybe they haven't started yet.......
Yeah, I went to PKD on July 7 and they still weren't issuing them...

i went to KD earlier this summer, excited about hypersonic. when i got there there was the "rides not in operation today" sign, and the one ride on it was hypersonic xlc. it turns out they opened it about half way through the day, but were apparently having trouble running two trains, because it had only been tested with one. they kept opening it and then closing it, and poor lil me never got to ride it. waaaaah!
You would wait 7 or 8 hours to ride a 20-second ride? You've got to get something more important going on in your life.

I'm going to PKD in about a month. How long are the lines usually for Hypersonic? Maybe the Fastlane passes will be ready by then...
