Pittsburgh's Secret Waterpark..............

I am sure most of you who travel the area know of this. West of the city, just off the I-376(parkway), about 10 minutes from the airport, lies Settlers Cabin County Park. I am no way slamming Sandcastle, but if you just need a wave pool fix, then this is it.

I haven't been there for a few years, but I hear it is still nice. Its only about $6 to get in, and only $3 for a tube rental. Free parking. They have a astro turf deck area, a huge grass lawn, a good concession area, and platform diving with underwater windows.

Just thought anyone passing through who wants an afternoon diversion at a good price should check this place out. I have never been in Sandcastle's pool, but Settler's is better than Wet'N' Wild in Orlando. Easier on the feet, too.
Actually, Settler's Cabin is off of the parkway West, I 279 (not 376, which is Parkway East.) Right behind the Bayer headquarters, across the highway from Ikea. It definitely does not get as crowded as Sandcastle and is a rather nice diversion. There is a third wave pool in Pittsburgh at Boyce Park (near the Monroeville area.) As far as variety and theming is concerned, Sandcastle blows these other 2 parks out of the water (pun intended!)
