Pirates and Haunted Mansion - Confirmed and rumored changes....

Oh yeah. It's a "C-ticket at best". But it beats the SBNO worst fark ride ever built! There is hope they say...the WDW make over changing Take Flight to Buzz Lightyear was a huge hit. Could it be done well again? The DL Pooh doesn't bode well for that!

I have a great idea for what a Monster's Inc ride SHOULD be but I doubt we'll get that. Here's what I envision:

The ride vehicles are suspended. They look like doors, with two rows seating 2 people sticking out in front. The ride is in three parts, following the movie's plot:

Part One - you go from bedroom to bedroom and scary monsters pop out and scare you.

Part Two - a "high speed" chase thru the door storage facility [who hasn't watched the movie and thought "RIDE!" during that sequence?]

Part Three - back to going from bedroom to bedroom but this time funny monsters appear and make riders laugh.

Oh, to dream....

That would be awesome!

Moosh, you should be an Imagineer! I might actually visit DCA again if that happened. ;)

Certain victory.

No, 'moosh needs to be the accountanteer to *approve the funds* for that attraction. After all, what are the chances that *someone* at WDI hasn't had the same sort of idea? It's the capital!

Hey, 'moosh: I hear the job of WDC CEO is opening up. Maybe you should apply!

ROFL...perhaps I will ;)

Either that or have some young upstart suggest they simply reso the Limo ride. ;)

The Jim Hill article sounds intriguing and I'm not one to be a traditionalist. But, I usually take what I read from Jim Hill with the skepticism I read Screamscape. That is to say that sometimes he is right on and other times you have no clue where he got his information.

I was behind Pirates at WDW once during an emergency evacuation and saw quite a bit of the behind the scenes area. I can imagine something like this being possible and with the success of the first movie and the potential of the sequels it certainly seem possible...but again...I will be skeptical.

I agree. At least though he readily admits when things like this are "blue sky ideas"...the imagineers are pitching ideas to the higher-ups and they are not "greenlighted".

Just as long as they don't put Eddie Murphy in the Haunted Mansion.

The other day I stumbled on a site that has lots of videos and sound clips of the Disneyland Resort, they also broadcast an internet radio station. www.visionsfantastic.com

Youre right, this would be a DL redo only since they do have room back there. Personally Im against the whole "haunted" pirates attraction since in the exact same land is the HM I could see this as maybe a halloween only thing though where for the entire month of Sept/Oct the flume would be switched; allthough that would mean all of the classic dark rides would either be closed or altered (HM and ISW are geting there X-Mas garb then).

"I've been on the WDW, DL and TDL Mansions, and outside appearance aside, they are almost the exact same. The ride is 98% the same with the differences being VERY minor. No important scenes, animatronics, part, etc are different. When they fabricated everything for the DL version they made 2 of everything because WDW was already under construction, just opening 2 or 3 years later."

I've been on both too. The differences I noticed were:

WDW's load room is more narrow.

DL's does not have a staircare

DL's does not have a spider

DL's does not have the shadow playing the keyboard in the greenhouse area.

DL's does not have the library.

That's all I can think of just off the top of my head.

To add to the differences, during the DL streching room sequence the floor drops and @ WDW the ceiling rises.

You know, I *know* that's true, but I can't seem to feel the difference!
