I used to work at a music rehearsal studio and we had an Earthshaker pinball machine. I was pretty amazing at it. :)
The sound of the guy yelling "EARTHSHAKERRRRRRRR!!!!" was the best.
Lol, here's a video . Man those sound efx bring back memories.
Rob, I wonder if I've seen you at the Ohio show -I've been to the last few. The guy who runs it (Mike) is a buddy of mine. He's a longtime operator and a big park enthusiast... he was at holiwood nights this year and last with us. The hills kill him but he keeps coming! He lives in the country and at one time had a small train ride from a park setup in his front yard. He still has the ride, but stacked up now (train's still in the yard tho LOL). He had all kinds of crazy junk, actually.
The next good local show is the Chicago expo in late Oct - http://pinballexpo.net Mike runs that one as well (along with Rob Berk) - it's a great time. I'll be there as well.
Yes, Monster Bash is another great game... has some pretty slick rock tunes going on and a smooth layout. I've got one of those as well as a nice AFM. Open invite - if any buzzers are in or passing thru Cincinnati and want to play, just drop me a note or email. We have a pretty large mailing list of pinball fans here in town and are always up for a night of flipping.
Mr. X - did it shake when the guy yelled EARTHSHAKER? The game came with a motor and eccentric weight bolted inside the cabinet that would spin when you got the yell... the whole cabinet vibrated and shook and the glass rattled. Really neat idea and effect!

Of course. It was fully functional save for a few wonky bumpers/targets. Although as cool as the vibration was it caused us to have to repair small parts often. The violent shaking would eventually knock something loose.
My name is still probably on the high scores on that machine from back in like 2003-04. I got like 50+ million a couple times which is pretty damn high for that game.
I'm headed out there in Nov for a conference, got me a place to check out after I hit the gun shop...
Just another Mike..
Yep, my bad about the Revenge From Mars. CP also has a Flash (I believe) that I have never seen working and there is a Theater Of Magic and Monster Bash in the little arcade near Breakers indoor pool...At least there was earlier this year. I've gone to the Ohio pin expo for the last several years as well.
We have a Hot Hand machine at work that gets a fair amount of play. My favorite game in college was, appropriately enough, Cyclone. I'd love to own a pinball machine at some point, but I think it'd be a really hard sell to the wife.

You might have! If you saw a 4 - 5 year old running around from machine to machine with a step stool in hand, that would have been us. We have gone there for the last two shows. We only attend Friday night if that helps. And we plan on coming out again this March.

I definately met you at the last Ohio show. Larry?...if I remember correctly. You smoked me on Police Force. We also met at a Holliwood Nights a few years ago. I looked at your profile and website and... ummm....your pinball collection is INSANE. I thought I was cool because I have 3 machines. Very impressive.
Greg: I thought I was the only Cyclone fan around...

Ktrain - Ahh I remember that game... I didn't mean to smoke you as much as I meant to knock off the grand champion score - one of the guys I know in the Ohio group had just set it and was bragging.. I had to shut him up. You were just the unlucky Player 2 during that exercise :) That Police Force belonged to Doug Hanselman - he wound up selling it right before the show closed, took the money and bought the Last Action Hero across the aisle. We'll definitely all have to meet up at the next Ohio show.
Does the Monster Bash at CP still have the massive hole around the mosh-pit scoop? I saw one there some years ago and the playfield was so worn around there, it looked like the ball might fall through into the cabinet below. I hope they maintain their rides better than this game LOL
I do need to update the website.. those pics are 6 years old, and I've gotten some new games and sold some others. Now if I could only get them all working 100%... I fix one and another breaks :/
