The mystery surrounding Cedar Point's project for 2007 continues to outshine the park's newest ride, Skyhawk. On Wednesday, red Intamin track arrived to the park's off-peninsula staging area.

How smart would it be for CP to have a staged plan for TTD? Start with the novel height and launch. Draws the crowds in for a couple of years. Then extend TTD with amazing drops and inversions. Brilliant and not outside of the realm of possibility. Here's hoping!
500ft tall Intamin Ball Coaster.
^Sounds like Mantis on steroids... lol Love it!
2 + 2 can only mean one thing--- they're building a Noah's Ark. :)
Screw the record breakers just build great coatsers.
Well said, Nut.
I would say it will be a good coaster possibly with a record ,but not with their previous height and speed endeavors.*** This post was edited by R1Undertaker 5/14/2006 12:33:32 PM ***
Nut hit the nail right on the head. Big coaster doesn't always equal GOOD coaster. My favorite Cedar Point coaster is Blue Streak (and not just because it's wood) and it's not close to breaking any records, nor was it ever. The ability to market a ride only goes so far- as some point the ride has to extend beyond "talk is cheap" spin.
"Y'all up for some serious sidewindin'?" Hmmm...
Hey, Ya'll...For sure it's tons of land this new coaster is on I also noticed the amount when riding the train around the back part of the park.. but in terms of the last few entries about cedar point breaking record(s) again is particulary true. Cedar point has 16 coasters right now i think tieing the record with most coasters in a theme park. So with this coaster is 17 making it the most coaster in one park in the world... I also have looked over the ideas of what I think it is...I think its going to be combinations of 1....Colossus in Europe (inversions) 2.. add the excitement of an AquaTrax coaster and oh yeah one heck of a ride i think...just a thought. But as we all know time will tell as we keep watching for updates and putting the puzzle pieces together.
Judging from where the concrete footers are, the area is decently large, but still not nearly as big as the other "big" coasters (Magnum, MF, etc)--and with the signs talking about "serious sidewinding" and "going in a new direction", I think its going to be actually fairly compact with a lot of curves and inversions. Whatever it is, I hope it is cool. I agree with the person who said they liked how some of the footers were out over the water next to the Wave Swinger. Going over water is always cool in my book!

Side note: it made me feel old to see the White Water Landing site empty b/c I remember riding that when it was brand new...

I think it will be a combination of Goliath at Walibi, and Colossus. 150-160 ft., some nice twisting drops like Goliath, and probably one or two more inversions than the Colossus, just to get up there in the inversion recordbooks.
ok i was there two days ago and if i looked at the supports and the concrete footings it is DEFINETLY not a launching coaster...unless they are ripping out something new that i dont know about yet......according to what i saw the station is probably gonna be in the old log flumes building...... i dunno what peoples problems with red are either.... its a freakin color......thats like sayin u cant put it there cuz it has the same track as Force....
