Nice photos! I actually work about a minute from the ride, and can barely see it out the window! If you check out my site, I also have a section on the Dania Beach Hurricane!
Oh, and isn't today a scorcher!

Cool,
I have a 1 minute video of the DBH taken from the front seat with a Sony Digital Mavica if you want it. Uses up 1 floppy of disk space, or 1.4 megs. Not alot, but it adds up if your web site limit is 10 megs. It was on thrill ride a few months ago in their update of the week section. As the coaster went up each hill, my hands we're shot up into the air, but for most of the video, you can see the tracks and how the coaster gets its amazing air time. Before each drop, there is a tiny bunny hill which points the car up before dropping over each hill. The ride lasts about 1 minute from when it leaves the top of the chain.
I also have pictures from behind hulk taken from the access road for the employees. Most sites always show the ride from in the park, and then you never know what it's doing in the back. One other site has a few pics from behind, but I have about 20 of them I took.
You want em, let me know.

DBH is really a fantastic coaster. Great PTCs, beautiful structure, and some fantastic airtime.
I look forward to many more of their creations.
True, it is a great coaster. However, what it does seriously lack is a great first drop. It just doesn't lift me off my seat or give me that feeling in my stomach that I love. Of course, those final bunny hops definetely do deliver!

Full gamma tube audio:
Banner: I think, I think this time it's going to work.
Computer: Warning, coolant levels dropping
Banner: No....No.....Nooooooooo
Train Launch
Computer: Warning, Accelerator Tube Contaminated

The hulk part was because I was telling people I had pictures of it from the back. I e-mailed them to CoasterFreak.
If you're in the back of the DBH and throw your hands up in the air on the first drop, you usually get a floating feeling going down the first hill. It doesn't exactly lift you out of the seat like the hill after the headchopper turn, but you do float.
What gets me is that the DBH is only 52 seconds from the time it leaves the chain. X at SFMM will be 40 seconds. I've gone on the DBH with a wrist band and rode it over and over and it's still not enough. You get off, and go right back on 5 times, then play some games, then come back and go 5 more times, then go to dinner at the nearby restaurants, come back and ride 5 more times. So imagine what's going to happen when people ride X. They're going to get off and see a 3 hour wait and only get to ride once, sigh.
This is why people like woodies so much. The full length ones give you a 2 minute ride from when the coaster leaves the chain.

Yeah, it's great they finally have that all day deal. I once rode it 35 times in one day... I rode every seat at least once, and I definetely prefer the back for the airtime. And yes, in the back you do get airtime a little on the first hill, but it's just not killer airtime. I do have to admit that it is getting better over time as it breaks in. I was one of the first to ride it opening night, and let me tell you, it was
alot slower than it is now, and had alot less airtime. Every time I ride it, it seems to get better.
Hmmm, all this talk makes me want to go over tonight and use my 2 free ride coupons... Maaaybe I will! -------------

Thanks for the memories.I rode the DBH 2 months ago during a trip to FL.My visit was during the 'Survivor'contest being held on the coaster.I got to the park at 10:00PM,purchased an unlimited ride band.and rode non stop until 2:30AM.Being from the Pacific Northwest,I was hungry for a good coaster fix.Viviana, one of the ride ops, seemed concerned about my whereabouts, when I took a break to use the restroom,as she had gotten used to seeing me get back in line after each ride.On my last ride of the night, she took a break from her post and hopped in the train with me for a ride.I also met Nolan ,who is a member of Florida Coaster Club.He took a few rides with me and told me some of the specs of the coaster. This was the first time that I took night rides on a wood coaster. This was the highlight of my Florida trip.If only Coasterworks wood build one of these in Portland,Oregon! All these Douglas Fir trees and not a woodie in the state!
Anyone ever check out DBH web cams. Theres one in the station and at the final break run. I dont know of many other coasters with web cams. Its pretty cool.

They have sure got some pretty silly deals advertised on their site. It says
1 Ride - 5.89
3 Rides - 13.50
9 Rides - 30.00
Then Right below that it says unlimited rides for 15.95. Why would you buy 9 rides for double the price of unlimited rides! "10 buck tuesdays" is a good deal, and I often take advantage of it. Overall however, the ride is overpriced. I mean, if you just want to go and take one ride with a friend, thats like 12 bucks right there. That's more than it costs to get into Kennywood.
They have kids that go with the YMCA all the time. If you have 9 kids in your group, you can buy each kid one ride for $30.

LOL, FloridaCoasterRider, I think all small parks are adapting that kind of pricing policy. $6 to ride, about $7 to ride SD2K. I hate paying by the ride, it's $5 to ride at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion, I don't care how long it's been since my last ride, paying 5 bucks for a ride is insane! But they probally need to charge it, who knows.

Yeah, but this ride cost about 3 million to build, while SD2K cost I think somewhere around 51 million... Yet they only charge a few cents more!
With all the money they charge, they need to build something in that field next to it. A shiny new B&M sitting along 95 sure would look good huh.

Yes, that is my dream, however, it's about as likely to happen as it is to snow here. Part of the reason [I'm speculating here] the prices are so high are the lack of attendance on the coaster. After the first month of it's operation, I really have never been there when it hasn't been relatively dead. I mean, sure I've seen small crowds, but never enough to fill a whole train. So, I think they still have a good while to go untill they make their money back and start profiting. Therefore, I really doubt a giant steel coaster... If anything, think water park;);).
Yeah I have heard rumors lately of a waterpark there. Usually that place is packed on like a Friday or Saturday night. During the week it is a ghost town during the days, except during the summer with everyone out of school. I know they would never get a beamer, it was just a dream. I think they should at least get some flat rides. Im not a big fan of the skycoaster or blender so some flat rides would gives us a little more thrill ride variety. Im just happy we at least have the DBH so close to home.
