Did another drive by today of SFEG and they had the gates open to the work area. The construction guys were cool and let me snap a few photos of the coaster coming along.
I tell you, a lot has been done in the past week and a half since I was there. Take a look for yourself here. I've been moving around too much to set up an actual site, so deal with the slowness of yahoo!! If too many people hit it, I'm sure it will go down. Sorry about that.
Anyways, I was wrong, the track is orange w/ blue supports. What rather concerns me though is the footers. The coaster doesn't appear to be really set in concrete, instead it is set on concrete footers, which makes me think the coaster may not be around many seasons and will be on the Six Flags traveling circuit before you know it.
Also, the Lakeside website has been updated, surprise, with their operating schedule for the upcoming season.

The Zamperla Flyer is ment to be a portable coaster, so that pretty much explains the footers. Hopefully SFEG will keep it for a long time to come!

The Flyer is not meant to be a portable coaster. It is meant to be a compact coaster. And that is exactly what it is. If it was portable, there wouldn't be footers, it would just be anchored down somehow. The Flying Coaster will be there for a long time.

I understand that it is not meant to be portable, that's obvious by the construction and the support being used.
However, if were meant to be permanent, wouldn't it make sense to clear the site of asphalt and set a more permanent foundation? The way it is now is exactly how it was in the factory's lot when the ECC got to ride it several months ago.
Besides, look at all of the rides Six Flags has moved around in the past, including roller coasters. Were any of them manufactured to be moved around so many times? No, but it was done anyway.
Considering the space that SFEG has, it would make sense that they would just start rotating rides in the future with other parks. That way people could enjoy the ride for a few years and when they get bored with it, bring in another. Makes sense for a park that has few options for expansion.
While I am trying not to start a debate, I am just trying to be open minded. I would love to see the ride stay, but there is always that Six Flags history of moving rides.

Mustang - I hope your cleaning those rides good, especially that blue car on Troika ;)
It'll be interesting to see the trains, they look, well, interesting.

Yeah, you're right. I thought I remembered an ECC article saying it would be portable, but it actually says there are no plans for it to be.
And I think I can tell that it is meant to be a compact coaster, I mean I'm not blind or anything.

Ahh, come on, tell us what's wrong with the blue car!
The trains are supposivly quite restrictive, but give a smooth ride, especially because Werner Stenglel is at the helm.
