Does anyone know where I can find a pic of the Intamin Flight Commander from PKI? This is also identical to Xr-1 at KBF and Skyhawk at PGA.
I've heard about this ride, just wanted to know what it looked like

I think I may be one of the few who actually enjoyed the Intamin Flight Trainer rides. I had the opportunity to ride both Flight Commander at PKI and SkyPilot at PKD and for some reason, I found it to be an entertaining ride. It reminded me a bit of the old Roto Jet rides... but with the added twist of being able to do barrel rolls. I had heard that originally you were able to hang yourself upside-down, but after the KI accident, they re-programmed the capsules so that when you moved the joystick left or right, you would pretty much do a complete roll.
Of course, I'm also one of the rare few who likes Mack Sea Storms, Huss Swing Arounds, and the late Vekoma Canyon Trip flat ride (former Gladiator's Gauntlet at BGW).

I went on it once at KBF back in 1997 on my 8th grade field trip. It was pretty cool albeit a bit scary. You had a heavy duty OTSR and a really thick t-bar.
If you moved the joystick even a little you started to turn. Leaving the capsule upside down was really crazy because you were so high and actually swung out over the midway. Turning the capsule to the left made you think you were gonna just fly out.
The ride's location is now home to Supreme Scream

Well the Skyhawk at PGA as since been removed and was replaced with one of those bungee trampoline pay-per-rides.
Oh, don't make me spit out my coco. I'm am still furious about that move. Skyhawk was the best flat ride in the park and to replace it with some good for nothing, low down, compustible, raggedy piece of garbage called Astro Bungee. I'd rather pay 50 cents a ride for Skyhawk than even look at thos darn Trampolines!
