Phunfest 2009

Wow. Apparently there were more people there than I thought.

Sorry I missed anyone. :) Spent most of my time between the flyers and bumper cars this year, with a huge crowd of other people and we all had a blast.

I missed you, too?!? Wth!

Ooooh, so I missed you, but you didn't miss me.... I gotcha. :)

I finally met Acoustic on the platform before my last ride on Phoenix for the night. Not that I spend the whole time scoping people out, but I try to recognize people from their pictures. Carrie I recognized right away. Raven, unless you were snorting soda through your nose the whole day, I probably wouldn't have known you.

For the most part though, beyond a few folks I know or expect to be there, I don't know who else from this forum is going each year.

I'm going every year, I just don't post much about it. RGB I recognized in the Flyer queue Saturday night among a few others.

Haha. I had no idea you were there. RGB, you probably saw me, I was with Matt for a solid portion of the night. I was wearing a black jacket and a black DMB hat. I only did a couple of rides on Phoenix, though - we spend a lot of time on the skooters and flyers this year. (though I did manage a LOT of Twister rides :) )

I saw you there, alfundo. You and your lady are the "snappiest" couple on the Phlyers. Sorry, Raven, I may have seen you but I can't remember-- and like I said, I didn't meet Matt until 10:05. :) Personally, I'm not a skooter rider. I just went to watch Carrie demonstrate her avoidance technique, and watch the GCI guys engage in mayhem. I did spend a lot of time at the Phlyers too, long enough to get yelled at.

Just got back from Phunfest weekend (after a completely out of the way but worth it stop to Jiminy Peak's alpine coaster & slide).

As usual, the PPP was awesome. I don't think it's possible not to have a great time at Knoebels.

Phoenix & Twister both ran great, the Bumper Cars were hysterical (especially with the GCI guys on them), and the Flyers was an extremely cold ride all weekend - but it was worth it to freeze.

Can't wait to see how cold it gets Halloween weekend (if I go this year - still haven't decided about that 9 hours of driving for 4 hours of riding).

There was at least one live actor in the Haunted Mansion when we went through. Someone grunted in my ear early in the ride and it wasn't my hubby who was sitting next to me. He thought it was me grunting in his ear, LOL.

I didn't realize so many Buzzers were going to be there. We bounced between Phoenix, Flyers and Bumper Cars with a couple Twister rides thrown in. Twister was running really good this year.

PPP has always been our favorite event. It just ends to quickly. It was great seeing everyone one last time for the year. Except for Gator, we'll see him again next month.

Here's the list of rides open for Hallo-Fun Nights: Phoenix, Twister,Haunted Mansion, Antique Cars, Wipeout, Pioneer Train, Cosmotron,Paratrooper, Kiddie Helicopters, Kiddie Firetrucks, Tea Cups, Looper,Flyer, Roto-Jets, Fandango and Cub Cars.... There will be some gamesand Kids 12 & under in costume can stop by 4 treat stations too.

WOOT! wasn't sure about the Flyers

Just wanted to restate that the weekend was awesome and the rides were running top notch. I had my usual crew of non buzzers in tow and we got a totally insane bumper car session right before the break for dinner. I'm still sore from it. I felt like I was in an interstate pileup yesterday, today I feel like normal day after park soreness from them.

The night was spent with a quick Haunted Mansion ride after pizza and then it was a loop of Phoenix, Carousel, Skooters, Phlyers... skipping the Carousel after the first time until end of night. Twister was left out due to there only being 2 people in my group willing to ride it after dark.

Watch the tram car please....

^^ The signs also say something about "Mini-Glo Golf" too. It sounds like they're opening everything along the walkway from Phoenix back to the Haunted Mansion. That's great, although it will take away some of the creepiness of walking back to the Mansion.

Last year, they had a kiddie ride or two (fire trucks?) set up in the open area in front of Phoenix. I guess they plan on doing that again this year, since you have to walk behind the Mansion and down toward the blacksmith shop to get to those kiddie rides.

^ Dragon, we were talking in front of the Flyers, but I don't think I ever introduced myself.

I knew by your pic who you were :). I said to my group shortly there after that you and I had missed meeting each other for the past couple years. Was good to finally meet up in person even if it was brief.

Yes I was the person proudly sporting Denver Broncos gear on Saturday. I left early Sunday to get home to see some of the Denver-New England game.

and what a great game that was!

I was there too! Phoenix was amazing Saturday night! My son was just thrilled to be riding Phoenix and Twister in his Man Eating Shark costume. He thought he was the coolest thing! It was our first PPP but it won't be the last.

I'll have to type up a real TR for this crazy weekend. In summary, Gator and I drove down to BGE Friday then KD, then Knoebels all day Saturday and Sunday with Dorney that night, finishing with Great Adventure on Monday. Today I am sore all over and exhausted from all of the snapping, bumping and airtime. But it's sooo worth it! Can't wait 'til next year!

P.S. Nice to finally meet RGB. Sorry I missed the rest of the 'Buzzers. Hope you'll introduce yourselves if you run into me in the future. I'm pretty recognizable. ;)

The driving in itself sounds crazy, Matt. Five parks in four days? Wow.

Five parks in four days is nothing. It's the amount of driving between those five parks. We did 20 parks in 9 days last year, but there wasn't a lot of driving between them (till we got back in PA).

I miss Matt already.

Matt said "find RGB for me", and sure enough, found you while he was around too. I tend to have several smaller groups I'll hang with throughout the weekend. Sorry I missed LG and Carrie.

I'm easy to find anytime I'm with AV... ;)

If anyone needs introducing to anyone else, odds are fairly good I know both of yas already... :)

Finally, poor Lori has already seen more of me than she probably wanted, LOL...I'll make it up to her by staying home next year....NOT!
