Photos from PTC factory tour online

Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters offered a fascinating factory tour to ACE members as part of CoasterCon 24. Couldn't make it? Wanna see the historical trains they had on display? SixFlagsHouston.Com now has many photographs from this event online.

Cool photos!!
The tour was self-guided, though they were nice enough to label the trains. Most of the machinery in the shop was fairly evident what it was for. It's not a big facility, it appears all PTC does these days is make and service trains.

They fed us though, big sandwhiches, even bigger pretzels, and all the birch beer we could quaff. Birch beer is similiar to root beer, though it's clear. Was all over the place in PA, but I've never seen it where I come from.
Yes they had some really good sandwhiches! :)
The Zingo train was really cool to see...it really did get fried. ;)

Also they had Alex Nagel's Boulderdash picture in a huge standup frame sorta thing. It was really cool. :)

Fierce Pancake,
you can buy birch beer here in Missouri but it is not clear, but, the same color as root beer. Did the bottles have a blue label with a scene of a cowboy on it? Just curious as to if the PA birch beer is the same as the MO birch beer, execpt for the color of course.

We never drank it out of bottles. The PTC guys had a couple kegs of the stuff. While at Knoebels they serve white birch beer from the fountains (and blue birch beer somewhere in the park).
Awesome. You have to love PTC trains!
