Photo Submission

Curious what the review process is for submitted photos of coasters. I'll upload a handful and the site will show that they are queued, but some will get published and others won't. They're all of the same general quality, so I don't think that is the issue. Do they sometimes fall through the cracks? Should I only be submitting a certain number at a time? Space them out more?

Thanks!

What I generally look for:

  • Not a dupe of another photo for that ride.
  • Has a train or action. I make exceptions for exotic rides we might not otherwise see.
  • What's in the frame? Too much sky, ground, fences, signs, etc. isn't great.
  • Portrait when it should have been landscape. Also those weird long phone aspect ratios.
  • Blurry, noisy or poorly exposed I pass on, including pixelated digital zoom.

What it isn't is personal. I've had some hate mail about this. It doesn't have to be Joyrides or Coaster Gallery (or CoasterImage.com, may it rest in peace), but I want it to be decent.
