My longest lines at PPP were always for the Phlyers. Skooters were second. I could basically get as many rides on the two coasters as I wanted. I never invested the time for the cars though, because the line always looked long.

And if you know exactly where to look, you can still see the outline of where the Rocket was to this day.

^And for those that aren't sure, here is a little mock-up I did a while back when. It amazes me that to this day, a clear outline of the 2 turnarounds are still embedded in the earth. I'd love to visit that site..
Phoenix just moved up two spots on the CBuzz 100! =)

Per CoasterDemon's request, here is a better photo of my framed Rocket Blue Print.

Long live the Big Bad Wolf
If any of you are still undecided on what to get me for christmas this year, let me help you out.:)

If I don't get it, I think it would fit in very well right next to the phoenix.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Oh man an Anton shuttle at Knoebels would be heavenly. Especially that one.

^Yes, and I know parts of it have already been rehabbed beautuifully. I'll fight for an old Anton over any newer launch or steel coaster period.
A few years ago I was told that Dick was looking at something from Anton. Not sure why it didn't happen.
^They had a Jet Star, but got rid of it :(
Maybe he's still looking at some Anton rides! Weiner Looping is still available as far as I know, with newly rehabbed innards, etc.
Turbine from Walibi Belgium (or whatever name that park goes by these days). "Enclosed loop" to me means better-than-average odds of the ride being in good condition...the loop being the portion that had to be replaced on one of the stateside shuttles (SFKK's?).
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
^^I'm wondering the exact details of that loop replacement (like I'm gonna get em here, I know...). But I wonder if the 2nd Tidal Wave was purchased for parts on an as-needed basis, while other parts (like the original loop) are being rehabbed? That "fine German steel" seems to hold up beautifully.
I love how a Phoenix thread morphed into an Anton love thread. With that in mind....
Happy Birthday Anton! And Happy Birthday Gator! So jealous you share your birthday with THE MAN.

^You share a birthday with Knoebels Grove....I share one with Anton. Can't see where either of us have a right to complain...as long as Knoebels and *some* stateside Antons are still operating... ;~P

Knoebels should get Turbine and that one from Astroworld, then race them.
^Yes! Or interlock them :) (Don't get me started, I have a few GREAT ideas I did on paper and NoLimits...)
I can't wait to ride the Phoenix - I think I may get more excited talking about Anton rides though :)
An Anton at Knoebels seems like a perfect fir to me for a few reasons -
- They like to save old classic rides
- It wouldn't be out of their price range
- It is a Knoebels type of ride in the sense that it is a major thrill ride, intensity, etc. with no seat belts, just lap bar
- Most importantly, it has a small footprint and can fit inside the park easily as they don't have to much room to work with.
Someone mentioned the long tunnel on the Phoenix earlier. I actually have a funny story about that. The first wooden coaster I rode was Thunderhawk at Dorney - pre-CF when it still had the tunnel that went under the old bumper car/Journey to the Center of the Earth building. The second wooden I rode was Phoenix. I loved how they both started off with the great tunnels and thought it was the best part of the ride as you couldn't see anything. Then we went to Hershey and I was extremely upset that Comet didn't have a tunnel ( I was probably 8 or 9 at the time.) I seriously thought that all wooden coasters started with a tunnel. However, looking back, my first 3 wooden coasters were Schmeck's so I can't complain. :)
And one final note: Cesari's pizza. I know I am gonna get killed for this, but I think it's terrible. There are so many great things to eat at the park and people flock to that awful pizza. The line is always long and slow-moving, and even when you get to order, it still takes forever for something as simple as 2 slices of pizza and a soda. I gave away my ticket at PPP last year and got my baked potato, corn on the cob, and macaroni bites instead (and didn't have to wait in that line). I think I am spoiled growing up in NEPA with the awesome pizza we have here.
