Phantom's Revenge paint scheme

hey, new user, long time CB reader and coaster junkie since birth. hope I can add to the fun here!

What's this I hear about the Phantom's Revenge being prettied up for next year in the old SP colors? A source (by NO means official) informed me that the old paint is returning, (black track on light grey trusses/poles) and is bringing with it new fiberglass for the trains in the same pattern, but with blue and black replacing green and purple. can anyone gimme a definate yes or no on this?

Forget it. Not going to happen. They just painted that thing. I like the colors now anyhow. The green track glows in the dark.

not being sarcastic or mean, just stating what I saw:

I just visited KP two days ago, the paint was as flecked and chipped as last year...the grey showed through all over the base of the lift hill and the green looked like it had the same wear...maybe it just wears out fast, just saying what I saw. I agree with you that the green is good though. the light up effect at night gives the impression that the Phantom is hovering when you leave the parking lot. very cool. anyhow, thanks for the reply. best to have as much info as I can.

I haven't heard anything but I doubt it. The ride was rebuilt and repainted four years ago and I don't see why the park would spend the money to do it again so soon. Besides, I like that sickly green! If anything, the black structure should be painted purple.

I was at KW during the off season in February, and they had re-painted PR. It was very bright green. Coaster paint take a lot out with daily operations during a summer, and with this atrocious heat I wouldn't be surprised if it is flaking already.

As far as bringing back SP color's I doubt it. After it being painted this offseason, and they really didn't want much more dealing with the old phantom. The trains were re-done, but other then that, there isn't much dealing with the old phantom. The first two hills and that is it. Not even the queue is the same, lol.

I think they are keeping the black/green/purple scheme. Honestly, if they were to change, I would just get rid of the purple. Keep the black and green.

Oh well, just my opinion.

They didn't re-paint Phantom this year. KPJB already stated that it hasn't been painted since it was built.
