Phantom's Revenge Open!!

A local pittsburgh channel, WTAE, announced on their 6 o'clock news that the phantoms revenge is open tonight. The official unveiling and opening cermonies will be held on sunday morning, may 20th. I just think this is awesome! Cant wait to ride it!

Why is Phantom's Revenge opening before X-Flight? X-Flight's structure was done way before Phantom's Revenge.
Don't get too excited if you want Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt open as well. They're closed at the moment.

Jackrabbit was open today. PR was open today when I was there but I didn't ride it (for reasons that I don't wish to go into). The ride looked great though.
why didn't you want to ride it? Come on tell us. Please please please please please!

Why not X Flight? That ride was not mentioned in the subject, if my memory is correct. Second, Kennywood pays in cash. Third, the Revenge involved less new construction. Got it?
Has anybody ridden this yet? I am contemplating whether to go to Kennywood again this year and wondering if the new ride is worth a 3 hour drive.
Steel Phantom 1991-2000 was probably scared to ride. I did and it was one of the greatest coasters built. I submitted a TR which will explain all.

Kevin, if you went while Thunderbolt and Phantom's Revenge weren't open, I strongly suggest going back. Those two rides literally are the heart of the park... it just seems empty without them.

(Also, I'm guessing there were a few flat rides down when you went, if you've already been there this year. Bonus!)

It had nothing to do with fear. I was all ready to ride it, but my girlfriend, who usually will get on anything, didn't want to ride it. There were four of us, two guys and two girls. The guys wanted to ride, the girls didn't.

I did get to ride PR yesterday. It was a fantastic ride. So smooth but watch out for the bunny hops. Some surprising air time.

UNBELIEVABLE airtime is more like it... I counted 7 different times throughout the ride. Magnum lovers should love this ride even more... smooth, air out the wazoo, and speed throughout the entire ride.

Also, it's a totally different experience front and back. The front seat on the right side is great, you're literally hanging over the edge while the rest of the train clears the lift. Much smoother in the front, not as much airtime. In the back seats the time you're in your seat is about the same as the time you're out of it...

All in all this is bound to be the coaster that tops everyone's expectations this year.

Could you describe the ruckus?
I am going to KW on both Tuesday and Wednesday, and I cannot wait to ride it! Woohooo! Did any of you sign up for the Phantom Phanatic's thing? You get a card and you scan your card at the turnstile each time you ride it. Then when you ride it 12 times you get a shirt, and 16 times you get a hat!
