Phantom of the Roller Coaster!

I just saw an episode of Wonder Woman from the 70's entitled "Phantom of the Roller Coaster". The episode is about a disfigured roller coaster designer, played by Jared Martin, who must stop rival park owner from blowing up his greatest creation, the one and only "SUPERLOOP". The Superloop is located at Fun Universe in California and is owned by the disfigured man's brother for whom he works. However, his brother feels that his ugly appearance (caused by a napalm accident in Vietnam) would be inapropriate for his parks themeing. So the disfigured man lurks in Tunnels underneath the the park were he monitors the Superloop and other rides.

Now here's the kicker, in the episode, Fun Universe is played by SFMM and "the worlds greatest roller coaster" the one and only "SUPERLOOP" was played by....drum roll please.....the one and (thank God) only "Revolution"!

I nearly laughed myself into a coma!

This makes for an intersting discussion topic. What amusement parks have been seen im movies and TV shows over the years and what were your impressions of how the parks and there rides were portrayed?
Well, I was watching Star Trek Voyager tonight, and I saw a coaster in the background. The plot had them be in LA, but it might not have been. Does the Santa Cruz Boardwalk have a red steel coaster with track that looks like Arrow's, maybe Morgan? It looked suspisiously like the IBM commercial with Avery Brooks standing in front of a coaster.

-------------
V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!
I'm not sure about that one, but I remember an episode of The Brady Bunch in which the bunch headed to PKI. I'm not sure if it was owned by Paramount back then. I remember they rode a huge Colossus style woodie near the end of the episode. They also rode a smaller steel racing coaster called the Red Racer.

In his book, Barry Williams stated that the park had agreed to allow the show's cast to cut the lines on all the parks rides. But outraged guests foced the cast to stop after only one day of line cutting.

Does anyone else remember this episode?

I can't believe no one mentioned the movie "Rollercoaster". Also, National Lampoon's Vacation(one of the best movies ever). Both these movies featured Revolution. Man that coaster got publicity!

Paramount did not own Kings Island back then.

I'm not ever sure who did. Taft Broadcasting?

Actually, I think it was supposed to be the American Eagle at SFGAm. Wasn't the show based in Chicago ? The funny thing is that they doctored the footage to make it look like it was on the shore of Lake Michigan, which of course it is not (it's close - but they had the lake practically lapping at the base of the coaster !!)
How about the intro to that one old TV show that portrays Magic Mountain as being located right next to the ocean? I believe it's the Hogan Family, or a spin-off of that show? I nearly died laughing when I watched the waves lapping right up to the Viper in about the same spot where X is being constructed right now, for the first time! Too freakin' hilarious!

KISS took on the Phantom of the Park some years back.

Joe C and ID: You are both thinking of Step by Step and though I dont remember where the show was *supposed* to be, I can assure you that the footage is indeed of Colossus @ SFMM

Dan-El, the Brady bunch rode thw wood racing coaster the racer at Kings Islnd in 1973, which was designed by John Allan. The only steel coaster in the park in `73 was a small galaxi coaster that is no longer there today. Paramount took over control of the park in the fall of 1992.
