PGA today (8/28/04)

Associated parks:
None

I was graciously given free tickets from a friend so I decided to grab some of my crew and head over to PGA. I was really hoping that the hour drive from San Francisco to Santa Clara would be worth it. If nothing else, it was a bright sunny day, and I looked forward to putting my truck in cruise control and blasting Brandy's new CD.

So I off I went, bopping to some Afrodisiac, drinking my Sprite and checking out cuties in the adjacent cars. I got to jamba juice at around 10:30, rendezvoused with the rest of the crew, and head over to the park. The first ride we hit was Top Gun. The line was about 20-25 minutes long. The crew was doing much better than I remembered. We opted to hit the first two rows and off we went. This lil ride kix serious arse. My poor homegirl was crushed that she messed up her "do" ... oh well :-) The helix still remains my favorite of any inverted. It was so good that we decided to hit it again...this time in the back. I was getting dizzy on that first upward helix.....yeoh!!!

We were hungry so we headed to that eating place by Invertigo(forgot the name...oh wait, lemme check the map) Food Festival...there yah go. Got a hot Dog and some chili cheese fries. Will be at the gym tomorrow working that bad boy off :-)

Our next ride was Drop Zone....a mere 15 minute wait. As we were about to board, some girl and her father took our seats. I was about to get brooklyn when my friend said lets just wait for the other cycle so we can all ride together. Anyway, when the car returned the girl was crying. Apparently it was too much for her... hehehehe... *****! So we got on, got our three or so seconds of droppage and moved on......yeoh!!

We took one look at Grizzly, spat and then moved on.

Our next ride was Demon. There was no line, so we got on and me being the front seat hog, raced to the first car. That lift hill is unusually steep. I wish the drop were as steep too :-) The loops were cool, as were the corks in the mountain with the water and all. A neat cool-off ride, but nothing spectacular.....eh!!

We then head to Logger's Run. This was my first double down flume ride, and it was pretty damn good. The need to clean up that area though. You could stilll see the Stealth footers. You also had a good view of the wondrous expanse of water rides in Boomerang Bay (three slides and a splash area). It was so corny...really. But I guess it is well received by other park patrons....boo!!!

Our next ride was Sponge Bob 3D. I had to beg my friends to go on this with me. They were reluctant at first, but all I had to do was give them my beagle puppy look, and they obliged. Lord, that ride was corny. Now I love Spongebob like a fat kid love cake, but this was worse than Dino Island.....boo!!!

Our next ride was Rip Roaring rapids. This is the only raft ride I have been on that had block sections. It was so boring. I came off pretty damn dry...boo!

We were contemplating another ride. We heard Vortex roar by, but decided we would rather sit in the shade and cruise. We soon discovered that the cuties were nonexistent today, so we decided to take some pictures in front of the fountain and head home.

All in all an ok day at PGA. The park is definitely cleaner and the staff was moving a lot quicker this year. I still however felt a little unfulfilled....Top Gun can only do so much. I really am happy that the new waterpark expansion is well received. I am just hoping that they can (as Dawn from "The Player" puts it) *up their game* in the thrill department in the coming years.

Very Amusing TR, Tuan, had me laughing the whole time, Yeoh!

First things first: is Brandy's new CD worth getting? I've not heard anything off it yet (dang nite shift), but I really loved the last one.

So you spend a day at the park and only rode 2 coasters? I wish I could do things like that, but when I go to a park, its so far away, I don't know when I'm gonna get back, so I have to get my fair share. Heck, I'd let all the SFDL whiners switch with me, then they could live down here and not have a park to compalin bout.

Will you be on the East coast any this fall/winter? We need to go park (and club) hopping together.

Oh, and shame on you for lettin yo girl git her "do" messed up...;)

Her new CD is hella good. It is rivalling Aaliyah / Jill Scott and The Roots as some of my favorite CD's of all time. Lyrically it's not a masterpeice, but she has some hopping jams on there.

Yes we rode only two coasters. Take a trip to PGA and you'll see why.

I'll be home in December sometime. Can't wait to hit the NYC nitelife. I heard Webster Hall and Club Roxy and 'NV are supposed to be the shiznits!!

I just cannot imagine they could ever put in a decent waterpark in the area Stealth used to occupy - I just don't remember it being that big! Plus, that lake was a nice touch, seems disappointing that they got rid of it for waterslides.

Hey, don't be spoiled Antuan, you got an Invertigo and a great Invert, it can't be all bad ;) Then again, for that price, yea, it can be ... oh well =)

Enjoyed the report - funny stuff.

"I've always wanted to say this ... forshizzle!"
