Personal ride height limits.....

im with Big Al and many others....follow the height restrictions!! geez people....its your freakin child!!!! those standards are set in place for a reason....dont try to take the final decision into your hands...i dont care if your child is 4 inches, or 1/8th of an inch to short. it doesnt matter....if they do not meet the height requirement, then dont let them ride!! yes i do agree that the parks should be very persistent about checking heights, but as parents, you should have enough God given common sense to not want to put your child on a ride where they do not meet the height requirements. i swear....you guys who are doing this quite frankly...your not right upstairs....think twice, act once...good words of wisdom.

hey...thats my story..and im stickin by it!!! :)
PKD 2003...drop rides will never be the same...Intamin rocks!! :)

It's not like they say 54 inches and if your 53 inches and you go on the ride you will fall out. They always put the limit a little higher than it really has to be. But if they put it how it has to be they would have to be very strict and check everyones height which they don't so they put it a few inches up.

83 coasters and soon to be more
Life is a roller coaster Ride It!

Ahhh.... Height limits... The reason why I moved from Space Mountain (at DLP, with a 55 inches height limit back then!) to Star Tours (kids have to be 3 years old to ride, no other questions asked). Why? Well, getting splitted upon, pushed and getting all the awful nicknames you can think of, I was tired of that.

Now, you'll say: 55 inches!!! Are they nuts?? Its for a Vekoma looper! Well, yeah, Vekoma recommend 48 inches height limit (like for the RnRC next door), but the 55 inches (was lowered to 52 last summer) is there for one reason: Comfort for the children.

See, Space Mountain has 2 strikes against it: its works 361 days a year (think of the wear and tear its gives... According to my calculations and the number of trains on it, I believe its more like... a 30 years old coaster!) and its a Vekoma, so its bound to shake. Still, Disney installed comfort things (softer harnesses, new headrests, new seats, etc.) but still, a poor 48 inches tall kid is going to come out crying, I guarantee you.

P.S.: The award of stupidity goes to that parent who slipped a 44 inches tall child under his coat and wanted to ride with him on his lap!

Even adults have gone through that dilema at a younger age. It's happened to all of us.
