Perilous Plunge air gates

I have to admit SFOG has some kill-gates on some rides that slam open and closed, Scorcher is one of them. The older rides have slower moving gates that allow people to step back in time so they don't get hit. At GASM, though, it would be easy to fall in front of a train if a guest was being stupid (imagine that) and engaging in horseplay or something. Sure I could e-stop the ride, but why run the risk?

In addition, they really help with crowd control. When there is a breakdown, guests are not allowed to cross through the trains unless an emergency situation exists. Now obviously if they want to get out of line, they take the quickest way, and if they're on the dock that means stepping through a train. Bad situation.

Coasters without air gates creep me out.
