I posted yesterday about the PowderKeg crash right when I heard about it, and came back today to see if anything was posted on my thread, and what do I find? A bunch of people being (for lack of a better word) jerks. Back when I used to post here, it was a friendly community. I am sorry if that has changed.
Is responce to some of those people who were rude and/or joking:

"Well, the scenario you proposed would be impossible. "
Obviously I know that, I was just stating what I had heard. And it's not my fault the news sources in this city are slooooooooooow!! Obviously I'm not going to make something like this up.
"Well, here's the webpage of the News Channel the poster is refering to, but I don't see any information on the subject..."

Yep, that's me, a lame high schooler...
"And still no word on the Ozarks Fox website either? Lame high-school prank, anyone? -CO"

And this guys is: airtimefreaky... Lets do the same to him. :)
"His AOL IM ID and Yahoo ID is: IrishFootball42 may I suggest a IM Flood letting said high school senior know what happens when you mess with coaster enthusiast?"
Moosh said:
"I think his account should be cancelled."
Thanks.

When looking at CoasterBuzz News today, I saw that you were the one that 'contributed' the news. Hmm...
"There is nothing in the news. As far as I'm concerned it didn't happen until we see otherwise."
I dont want any trouble, it was just frustrating to come back on here and read what a few people said.

a) Get made fun of for making this thread.
b) Get this topic locked/deleted.
c) Get banned.
d) Get yelled at from Jeff.
But I'm standing with you. It's unfortunate how some people act, but that's the world these days. Quite a pity, though. Ah well. People are going to be asses and we can't do anything about it. May I suggest you hide your info so you don't get a "flood" on AIM? That seems something like preppy High Schoolers would do... you're getting made fun of for being a high schooler, yet they're the ones acting immature.

That being said you have to understand where we were all coming from:
1] You posted a news item that could not [at that moment] be verified by independent sources.
2] You posted a scenario [collision in the launch area] that is impossible given PowderKeg's layout and operations.
3] You registered on March 21. If you look at the history of people who register for this site with the sole purpose of trolling and posting incorrect info their posts happen immediately after their start date.
Given all that its natural that we came to the conclusion we did. We were wrong. I'm man enough to admit that. And as for Jeff posting the news story I'm sure he gets automatic email notifications with any news story that involves a coaster...its natural he'd post it.
Don't give up on Coasterbuzz because of this one incident.
Respectfully,
mOOSH
There are some people who have to post something in every thread dropping inside jokes and the like...I feel with you there, but I dont think you should worry about them. This board is moderated really well, unfortunatly your post was seen as a rumor at the time and was dealt with.
I registered on March 21? Really?
That and it's not my fault I forgot what e-mail I used to log on with!!! :)
Don't get down, people around here are VERY skeptical of unconfirmed info and the response you got from Jeff is the same response any unvalidated news/rumor gets. The idea is that it's better to post the news correctly, but last, rather than post incorrect or untrue info just to be first.
Instead, bask in the glow of what is known as 'being right' :)
its sad that people are not allowed to express themselves here, but that's the way Jeff wants it
It's even more sad that you see 'rumor control' as an inability to express one's self.

Bill: You posted an unsubstantiated claim about what happened. That's the way we roll. If it happened, we need proof, or it gets shut down. That's the way it has been, and that's how it will continue to be. It might be impossible for some people to believe, but there is some legal liability and obligation not to disseminate false information that could be potentially harmful to a particular business.
