Can someone put some water on my fire for me. Maybe there is a good reason, one that makes me believe its because a huge update is coming that will blow my mind away.
I agree with you 100%. It's the park's biggest investment, and IMO, the most significant attraction they've ever installed. No doubt it will be an amazing attraction.
However their lack up updates, both written and pictorally, has been ridiculous. Why did they even bother with posting a special web-page if they had no intent on routinely updating it?
I believe that the park still closes for and extended period of time during the holidays, however the site had not been updated for ages prior to the holiday season.
Thank goodness for fan websites. It's a sad but true fact that a person can often rely more on unofficial websites for up-to-date park info vs the parks "official" website.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.
Regardless, our group of Enthusiasts here at Wonderland have kept CW Mania loaded with pictures, as recent as a few days ago. Also, we were invited by the park for a backstage tour at the beginning of December and the pics from that are amazing. Everything, including the trip report from the backstage visit, are available at www.cwmania.com.
Our group is frustrated with the lack of updates from Wonderland, but it affects us less because we've been updating ourselves very frequently. I've attempted to post updates here, but they fall off the boards pretty fast. Come over and check things out.
Hopefully that worked. Sorry for confusing you but I just thought it was cool that there is still a working link for the Paramount parks homepage that's all. *** Edited 1/11/2008 3:39:58 PM UTC by Ѕіx Flαgѕ Đαrієή Ĺαkє***

As much as I hope to ride it this year, I'm still calling "no effect" on attendance.
Personally I dont believe the ride is intended to boost attendance here. I do however firmly believe it is there to add some much needed capacity to the park. I can't think of any capacity hogs in this park but this will definitely be. I believe it will help with customer satisfaction more than anything else. Happier customers spend more money in theory.

You guys were talking about this on the podcast a few weeks ago. I was listening at the gym and caught myself from saying "but but!" out loud. I agree that it probably won't have a hige impact on attendance. (How many more people can this park hold on a daily basis?)
This is more of a response to declining season pass sales and the park simply being overcrowded. Apparently they've dropped off in the last couple of year with no new attraction. There's a lot of people waiting in very long lines for older rides with not-so-great throughput. On any given Tuesday in the summer there's like an hour and a half wait for the 13 year old Vekoma SLC!
CW pulls it's numbers because it's located next to Toronto which is booming New Canadians who aren't too keen on border crossing these days. The new ride like a more proactive solution to a park with huge attendance and a bunch of rides that aren't ready for it.
A band spankin new 1500 per hour capacity B&M will take a huge load off the rest of the park. Less time in line for the old SLC means more time to go buy some tylenol in the gift shop after and go have an overpriced lunch. Rather than being irritated with waiting over an hour just to get a headache and leaving.
I drive by Behemoth when we head north of the city for skiing. It's really breathtaking especially the first drop. The marketing department has gotta love that beautiful first drop looming over the Hwy 400 commuters every day! *** Edited 2/13/2008 6:31:17 PM UTC by Cropsey*** *** Edited 2/13/2008 6:32:10 PM UTC by Cropsey***
